Showrunner for The Boys Eric Kripke hints on what's going on inside Billy Butcher's (Karl Urban) head at the end of Season 4 premiere. It was known before the debut that side effects from Temp V had Butcher, the leader of The Boys, terminally sick. A tweaked form of Compound V, the serum gives its users brief superhuman powers. Overdose on the new medication caused Butcher to acquire brain tumors. The software suggests, nevertheless, he might have more Temp V negative effects to come.
Kripke indicated in an interview with Variety about the meaning of the ending of The Boys Season 4 Premiere when something seems to move inside Butcher's temple. Although Temp V's effects are lethal, Kripke said, doctors still don't completely understand what the medication is doing to the vigilante's body. Kripke's remark is below:
Kripke notes some of Temp V's adverse effects have not yet been observed, but he does not provide any particularly noteworthy analysis of the impact displayed in the debut of The Boys season 4. The comics provide no insight since Temp V is usually employed in the source material without any detrimental effects. The Boys Presents: Diabolical, their animated offshoot, might provide hints to the vigilante's diagnosis though. Something seems to be moving within Butcher's temple, calling to a spinoff series character whose tumor mutated from Compound V.
The Boys presents: demonic elements Sun-Hee (Youn Yuh-jung), a cancerous woman of pancreatic kind. She is barely a few days away from death when her husband, in desperate search of cure, pilfers Compound V and gives it to her. Apart from providing superpowers, the Compound V alters her malignant cells. She therefore develops a sentient tumor. Using its tentacles to wre havoc before Sun-Hee uses her powers to fight it, the tumor is a different creature from her and finally separates from her body and keeps expanding.
Eric Kripke developed the superhero/dark comedic satire series The Boys based on the same-named comic book run. The show takes place in a "what-if" universe that honors superheroes as gods or celebrities with few repercussions for their deeds. One group of vigilantes headed by a vengeful man named Billy Butcher will fight back against these super-charged "heroes" for what they are.
Thanks to its frequent mordant humor and storyline shocks, the program—which has attracted much positive review—has grabbed viewers. Among the various factors the program is so popular for is its ability to creatively confront issues of power, corruption, and the human condition.
