For the "Halloween" series, what other ends were possible?
The "Halloween" series boasts multiple potential endings. While some altered the film, most saw no notable alterations. Although the first "Halloween" was supposed to have an other ending, director John Carpenter swiftly refuted that myth. Several of the sequels, however, feature filmed but never published alternate endings. Though that conclusion doesn't significantly alter the plot, "Halloween II" offers an alternative ending which Laurie Strode reunites with a paramedic called Jimmy.

The conclusion then veers to Laurie's afterlife, where she encounters her mother's spirit. Michael dies by Laurie in the theatrical ending, hence this one is darker. Laurie's escape and last scene in the psychiatric institution are likewise eliminated at this conclusion.
