Kindnesses: Cast and Character Guide
Emma Stone leads a star-studded ensemble cast comprising such esteemed actors as Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, and Hunter Schafer in Kinds Of Kindness, her most recent project with Poor Things' Yorgos Lanthimos. Three short films make up Kinds of Kindness, an anthology film. Unlike most anthology films, though, the actors in Kinds of Kindness individually play distinct parts in every segment of the film. Dubbed a triptych fable, Kinds of Kindness opens with the section "The Death of R.M.F.," on a man's attempts to escape his demanding boss. The second section, "R.M.F. is Flying," centers on a guy who believes his lately returned missing wife is an impostor. In the third and last part, "R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich," a cultist searches for someone able to resurrect the dead. To bring these unusual tales to life, Lanthimos has assembled a usually outstanding cast.

Stone plays Rita in the opening segment of Kinds of Kindness, "The Death of R.M.F." She acts Liz in the second segment, "R.M.F. is Flying." She plays Emily in the third and last segment, "R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich." Stone earlier collaborated with Lanthimos on The Favourite's Abigail Masham and Bella Baxter in Poor Things.
Plemons Jesse As Daniel / Robert / Andrew
1988 saw Jesse Plemons born in Dallas, Texas. Plemons had his breakthrough in Friday Night Lights playing Landry Clarke. The part Todd Alquist played in the fifth and last season of Breaking Bad brought him even more notoriety.
Plemons has also landed other legendary TV roles including Robert Daly in Black Mirror season 4, episode 1, "USS Callister," and Ed Blumquist in Fargo season 2. Plemons has starred Gary Kingsbury in Game Night, Roy Mitchell in Judas and the Black Messiah, and Joe Murphy in Bridge of Spies on film. He teamed with Martin Scorsese to portray Thomas Bruce White, Sr. in Killers of the Flower Moon and Chuckie O'Brien in The Irishman. Plemons acts Robert in the first part of Kinds of Kindness. He plays Daniel in the second segment. In the third he acts Andrew.
Willem Dafoe As Raymond, George, Omi
1955 saw Willem Dafoe born in Appleton, Wisconsin. First he broke out in the parts of Rick Masters in To Live and Die in L.A. and Raven Shaddock in Streets of Fire. With his Oscar-nOminated role as Sgt. Elias in Platoon, he developed into a bona fide celebrity.
From a confused Jesus Christ in The Last Temptation of Christ to the antagonist Norman Osborn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Dafoe has performed parts ranging from Dafoe later returned as the Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home. For portraying Max Schreck in Shadow of the Vampire, Bobby Hicks in The Florida Project, and Vincent van Gogh in the documentary At Eternity's Gate Dafoe also got Oscar nods. Dafoe plays Raymond in the first Kinds of Kindness segment. He stars Omi in the third section and George in the second. Lanthimos hired Dafoe to perform Dr. Godwin Baxter in the Poor Things ensemble.

The 2024 comedy-drama Kinds of Kindness is written-directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Split between portions, Kinds of Kindness explores the tales of a man striving to regain his destiny, a police officer whose wife returns after being lost at sea only to seem like a new person, and a lady assigned with discovering a future spiritual leader.
