That big, scary monster you saw at the end? That's the Destroyer! The Borderlands movie creators made a little Easter egg reference from the game, and even though the movie bombed at the box office, that one character might make a comeback!
Remember Atlas, the greedy corporate guy? Well, in the Borderlands movie, the Destroyer drags him off! The Destroyer was in the Vault, which had this amazing technology that made the Home Planet a mess! And that's why we are all so fascinated with those Borderlands characters!
Yep! The Destroyer, in the first Borderlands video game, was super locked up in that Vault for a long time - centuries ago! But it turns out, Lilith (who's awesome as a Treasure Hunter) freed the Destroyer, even if she didn't know it, because she opened the Vault to rescue Tiny Tina. Now it makes a lot of sense!
Think of this as a major Borderlands mystery. Apparently, back when the Eridians ruled those planets, they locked away this beast in the Vault!
It was a wild adventure, a super cool mix of Borderlands sci-fi, comedy, and even some tough fighting!
The Borderlands movie really is an interesting story and it will be interesting to see what kind of Borderlands sequel happens - we need to know how the story turns out - so we will have to wait and see. But for now - you can watch those crazy Movies and then, grab those games, and you are totally in the right place!
And it seems that Borderlands has some real potential in those video games! Who's up for some treasure hunting and fighting those monsters? It will be fun!
