Bad Boys: Ride or Die Spinoffs - 3 Awesome Ideas!

Bad Boys: Ride Or Die – Three Totally Different Spinoffs Just Waiting to Happen!

Bad Boys: Ride or Die – The Movie That Launched a Franchise (of Spinoffs!)

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is huge; it's the fourth mainline Bad Boys movie! But, it also totally sets up three wildly different spin-offs, extending this epic franchise in surprising and totally awesome ways. The series has always introduced all kinds of characters, and some have those potential plot elements ripe for their own story arcs! The show also already produced one spinoff (L.A.'s Finest), so this isn’t unexpected! This article explores these possibilities: those creative options using characters and plot developments to consider.

Ride or Die brilliantly connects the older and newer Bad Boys films. The movie brings back several original characters plus brand new faces– proving this series still has huge creative momentum, making these creative opportunities ripe for grabbing! And those box office returns? Another key reason for studios to eagerly look for ways to expand this existing brand, resulting in increased production that further boosts this entire franchise.

Three Awesome Spinoff Ideas From Bad Boys: Ride or Die

1. Armando's Redemption Arc: A Fugitive's Story

First up, Armando!  This awesome character first appeared in Bad Boys for Life, the son of Mike Lowrey (Will Smith), and initially, a villain. But Ride or Die gives him a complete redemption arc. He teams up with Mike and Marcus (Martin Lawrence) and even saves Callie (Captain Howard's daughter) at the end, getting a surprising escape! So, while Armando’s a hero now– he’s still a fugitive!

An Armando spinoff could explore that whole “fugitive” storyline!  It connects to what MikeMarcus, and Armando all experience, offering an interesting unique take focusing on this single character with lots of potential and possible scenarios. And it gives chances to explore a compelling morally ambiguous character arc which wouldn't normally have the screen time otherwise!

2. Reggie’s Unexpected Action Hero Debut: A New Kind of Bad Boy

Next up: Reggie! (Marcus' son-in-law). Initially  just a running gag in the earlier Bad Boys films, getting mocked by Mike and Marcus in several moments throughout those early years, and getting married to Marcus' daughter; we are introduced to this extremely surprising, unlikely action hero! Ride or Die completely reveals this:  he's this ridiculously capable Marine; saving the day! It demonstrates a new take on the previously introduced characters.

This new unexpected reveal offers seriously great possibilities!   A Reggie spinoff could focus on his time in the Marines; even an entire standalone story with a crime only he could possibly solve. The serious contrast between this character with that classic Bad Boys dynamic, that humorous element could produce a new version entirely which makes for something more surprising! And it continues using the success from those extremely important action scenes from Ride or Die.

3. AMMO’s High-Tech Adventures: Expanding the Bad Boys Universe

Finally:  AMMO! That amazing tech team (Bad Boys for Life and Ride or Die).  An AMMO spin-off showcases Kelly and Dorn's adventures OUTSIDE Mike and Marcus' shadow – adding many surprising opportunities!  But it also offers a potential comeback.

Here's what really sets it apart from those prior movies: that possibly amazing comeback of Rafe (Charles Melton); he's an AMMO member (Bad Boys for Life) who totally vanishes in Ride or Die! The series did mention it a lot prior but it ended being largely sidelined and it could easily return; this brings even further intrigue to the plot elements! And using these elements already hinted and referenced through the mainline movies adds an immense level of consistency that some fans always love to see!
