Joey and Rachel (Friends):

The whole "Joey and Rachel" thing in Friends was a rollercoaster. We all knew Rachel and Ross were endgame, so their fling felt like a forced detour. Honestly, Joey and Rachel were just not a match. Joey had to completely change his personality for the relationship, which felt unnatural for the character. Their friendship was far better, and way more genuine than their doomed romance.

Poor George! He was so desperate for love that his relationship with Susan was just crazy. Susan was an NBC executive involved with Jerry's sitcom! The conflict of interest made dating absolutely disastrous. He then proposes? In a super immature decision. Their storyline ended rather tragically, though fans were not all that sad for that to occur!

Troy and Britta (Community):

Fans always feel such a unique disappointment and even a sense of injustice that the Community storyline skipped the vital stages before getting Troy and Britta together! It was doomed from the beginning. It seems everyone knows about what happened after it came out during what many viewers recall as a pretty awkward season!

Dennis and Maureen (It's Always Sunny):

Dennis isn't relationship material, as proven by the D.E.N.N.I.S. system. Marrying Maureen seemed crazy to fans, but to Dennis, this was going to help solve an insecurity. A quick marriage leads to major resentment. And did it end well? No! This came to an abrupt end. A darkly humorous ending at that!

Mark and Sophie (Peep Show):

Winston and Daisy (New Girl):

Winston, always the sweet, somewhat goofy one in New Girl, deserved better. His relationship with Daisy is one many were disappointed about, due to the total imbalance. Their ending highlights a character development. Fans of the series always seemed a little upset over how these characters ended!

Fry and Amy (Futurama):

Everyone loved Fry and Leela's epic Futurama relationship, and it took some time before anything significant developed. Why does Amy matter? The Fry and Amy relationship felt completely unnecessary. They never really gelled, with their connection never being as compelling as other dynamics in this show!

Michael and Jan (The Office):

The power dynamic between boss Jan and employee Michael made their relationship in The Office unbearable to watch. The unhealthy imbalance is seen and it is difficult for any of the other characters in the show. Their story ends in the "Dinner Party" episode.

These disastrous pairings highlight how sitcoms, while often hilarious, sometimes create relationships that lack logic or authenticity for the sake of a laugh (or plot advancement).
