Already showing themselves as a very strong dark side user, the Sith Lord of The Acolyte is much more audacious than Darth Sidious himself. The principal enemy of the whole Skywalker saga of Star Wars films was Emperor Palpatine, the covert Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Nearly totally destroying the Jedi, he was among the most potent Sith ever. Palpatine was the most successful Sith Lord of all time with his political guzzles and Order 66; another, earlier Sith Lord was far more bold and accomplished one thing Palpatine neglected.
The Sith Lords who preceded Palpatine are little known. Star Wars Legends examined many of them, including Darth Plagueis and Darth Tenebrous, but only 36 Sith Lords were incorporated into canon and most of them were merely acknowledged by name. That's so because although the Sith were hidden from the Jedi for almost a millennia, the Sith Lord of The Acolyte revealed they were not hiding the whole period. The Acolyte episode 4 had the Sith Lord present himself to the Jedi and had them try something even palpatine never did.
The Sith Lord greeted the group of Jedi looking for Kelnacca at the end of The Acolyte episode 4, and it appears they will be fighting all the Jedi concurrently. That gang had eight Jedi, including Sol, a Jedi Master, hence their Force was quite strong. Though they clearly drove all the Jedi back with a strong Force blast, and it doesn't seem they will have any difficulty in the upcoming conflict, it didn't seem to deter the Sith Lord.
Assuming a group of eight Jedi sounds like an impossibility, and it was something even Palpatine never ventured to accomplish. Four was the most Jedi he battled at once; Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, tried to arrest him in Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine easily beat three of them, but had Anakin Skywalker not been present he would have fallen to Mace Windu. While the Sith Lord of The Acolyte sought them out and engaged twice as many fighters, Palpatine's conflict was also only against four Jedi and he only fought them absolutely required to.
The Sith Lord of The Acolyte must have been quite strong if they were ready to engage a large gathering of extremely skilled Jedi all at once. Though the fight in The Acolyte episode 4 was so brief, there's truly not sure how strong they could be. One clear clue regarding their strength, nevertheless, is The fourth Acolyte episode concluded with the Sith Lord rapidly pushing all the Jedi away with the Force, which would have been somewhat challenging. There is a centuries-old reason they are so strong on the Dark Side. It indicates they are really strong in the other side.
Viewers will never be able to forget the genuine debut of The Acolyte's Sith Lord in episode 4; this is indeed worthy of a Sith.
A Sith Lord called Darth Bane lived hundreds of years before The Acolyte. With the Rule Of Two, every Sith Lord and student was far more potent than the Sith Lords before Bane, who matched Jedi exactly. Every successive generation increased in strength as they exceeded their Masters as well. By the time of The Acolyte, the Sith Lord would have had access to a whole lifetime of consolidating their own personal power in addition to over 900 years of study into the evil side of the Force. Furthermore, every Sith acolytes had to kill a Jedi in order to qualify as an apprentice, hence The Acolyte's Sith Lord already had experience confronting Jedi. Among the most significant old Sith Lords, Darth Bane grew persuaded in-fighting among the Sith was the actual reason they would ultimately lose - again and again - to the Jedi. He developed the Rule of Two, a doctrine holding that there can only ever be two Sith at any one: one to use power, and the other to yearn for it.
The audacious action of the Acolyte's Sith Lord addressing a group of eight Jedi, including a Jedi Master, shows a disrespect for the conventional Sith tactic of secrecy and deceit. Their boldness points to a Sith Lord with enormous trust in their own powers. This can also suggest a Sith Lord who might be challenging the conventional Sith values by not following the same guidelines and ideas as their forebears.
The existence of the Sith Lord in the High Republic Era seriously jeopardizes the Jedi Order. At the height of their influence and might, the Jedi could undervalue the threat this Sith Lord presents, hence having perhaps catastrophic results. The Sith Lord of the Acolyte might be a trigger for the fall of the High Republic, opening the path for the Galactic Empire to grow and finally the return of Darth Sidious.
If even a squad of eight Jedi battling together does not provide a threat, the Sith Lord of The Acolyte may be almost as strong as Palpatine personally and even more bold. Since it would show that any number of Sith Lords would have been strong enough to truly threaten the Jedi, that would make the Sith even more terrifying than they are presently. The Acolyte's Sith Lord may even demonstrate that Palpatine was the only Sith Lord really qualified to wipe out the Jedi. Palpatine weakened the Jedi before he attacked, so he triumphed not because he was unusually strong but rather because he was especially brilliant.

Set in the Star Wars world toward the conclusion of the High Republic Era, the television series The Acolyte features both the Galactic Empire and the Jedi at their most influential point. Investigating various killings, this sci-fi thriller sees a former Padawan reunite with her former Jedi Master as they uncover darkness exploding from beneath the surface ready to bring about the downfall of the High Republic.
