Picolo's artwork lets the Titans have a chance to be teenagers.
As user grave_grown_tea notes, this is a "very needless road trip. They are only keeping Robin company; half of the people could just fly there. But the Titans in Garcia and Picolo's series are just as much young people as they are superheroes; it makes reasonable that the youthful heroes would gather for a legendary, cross-country road trip in an ancient automobile. The squad has few opportunities to dispute over the aux cord, eat rest-stop munchies, or have unplanned meetings with Terra and Slade at a strange pub just teleporting or speeding over the heavens.
Available now from Dc Comics, the grown-up Titans are leading the DC Universe in their own continuous series: Titans by Tom Taylor, Nicola Scott, and Lucas Meyer.
The Summer Road Trip of the Titans Returns Familiar Faces in Delightful New Art.
The Teen Titans Go! on a road trip! With a series of images showing the Titans traveling across America to see Bumblebee, catching up with some known faces along the way, comic artist Gabriel Picolo celebrated the beginning of summer. This "side story" is a wonderful present for readers of his and Kami Garcia's Teen Titans graphic novels, or lovers of the Titans in general.
The teenage heroes would naturally gather on a classic, cross-country road trip in an old car; the Titans in Garcia and Picolo's story are just as much young people as they are superheroes.
Teen Titans Lineup Reflects Love and Friendship
Though the Teen Titans have had a lot of varied lineups over the years, the quintet from these sketches is the same five as the CArtoon Network series: Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, and Cyborg. Along with abilities, they handle problems of adolescence and emotional turmoil, therefore highlighting the characters while yet maintaining the action and thrill. Picolo's Instagram account is full with fantastic images of the gang hanging out together, their friendship felt on the screen, for everyone else not now following Picolo. These Teen Titans are able to exist as both Titans and teenagers.
DC Comics currently carries the Teen Titans graphic novels by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo.
Background of the Billiards' Hall Features Easter Eggs
Picolo has also included some Easter eggs for eagle-eyed admirers in the backdrop of the billiards area. A Puffy AmiYumi concert poster features the actual Japanese pop group that covered the opening theme tune for the 2003 Teen Titans series. The TV behind the Titans alerts viewers of a wanted criminal on the run: Terra, a superpowered team friend. Behind them, in-person, is Terra, sporting the traditional baseball cap disguise. She is with Slade, who under H.I.V.E. often attempts to subjugate Terra and the Titans.
Posted to Instagram, Piccolo also requests some car trip playlist ideas. Except for Raven, the images reflect everyone enjoying a rather musical time on the ride. While the Titans get up to lots of excitement and heroics, these group of pictures reveals a more laid-back side of the team.
