The vault theft in Jason Statham's Revolver resembled that in Fast Five.
Guy Ritchie's 2005 action film Revolver has Statham as street gambler Jake Green. Green gets released after seeking retribution on crime boss Dorothy Macha for seven years of incarceration. Macha puts out a hit on his life after learning of Green's revenge schemes, starting a violent and exciting back-and-forth between Green and Macha featuring murder, kidnapping, shoot-outs, and a vault robbery shockingly similar to Fast X.
Green sets Macha to be indebted to a bigger criminal lord by staging a theft on a safe full of cocaine buried in Macha's casino with partners Avi (André Benjamin) and Zack (Vincent Pastore). They deftly drill through the outside of the casino, fasten a cable to it, then drive off to extract the safe from the structure. Though Green's theft is cool, it was a preamble to other more exciting, high-octane interactions between Green and Macha and made less of an impact on the film than imagined.
With a 15% Rotten Tomatoes Score, Jason Statham Pulled Off Fast Five's biggest Stunt Six Years Earlier in a Crime Film.
Regularly appearing in The Transporter, The Expendables, and action movies like The Bank Job, The Italian Job, and Death Race, Statham was already establishing himself as an action star before he became a regular Fast & Furious staple. Statham has now developed into a well-known action star playing Adam Clay in The Beekeeper and Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious series. Statham's martial arts expertise and action film experience make sense since the Fast & Furious series included the actor in five of its films. Starting with an uncredited Fast Six cameo in the end credits, he then played Shaw, a talented driver and fighter until Fast X in 2023. The Fast & Furious series performed a massive feat in Fast Five, one which Statham pulled off in another film years before, before landing Statham.

Far better than Revolver's is the Vault Heist from Fast Five.
Although it was carried off six years after Revolver, Fast Five's vault theft was executed better. Fast Five's success depends critically on the safe robbery, even if the sheer scope of Fast flicks' typical Stunts is amazing. Working with DSS Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and their team pilfers $100 million from drug lord Hernan Reyes' vault. The main enemy of the movie is Reyes (Joaquim Almeida), thus it represents its toughest challenge.
At the end of Fast Five, Torretto and O'Conner pilfers Reyes' cache in order to exact their retribution. With Reyes' money, Hobbs drives into the building; the vault is linked to the rear of two automobiles, and Torreto and O'Conner spend at least ten minutes racing across the city to evade Reyes' chase. Though it's broader than Revolver's, the Fast Five safe theft feels bigger and better since it marks the movie's conclusion rather than a supporting scene.
