Hulu's Carved: A killer pumpkin and a Cast of Characters You'll Love (or Fear!)
Carved, Hulu's dark horror-comedy about an unusually terrifying Halloween night in 1993, is bringing all those spooky thrills and laughter to our screens! It's adapted from Justin Harding's 2018 short film (Harding is also a co-writer and director for this one!). The plot follows a bunch of theatre people and other folks in Maine's creepy Cedar Creek Village during that fateful night where a pumpkin carving competition takes a very, very unexpected turn. We're talking about a killer pumpkin, folks – seriously terrifying, hilarious and totally unexpected!
An unexpectedly large pumpkin triggers those terrifying events: discovered by a villager and taken to this specific competition, a lot of terror and murder follows when that particular pumpkin decides to come to life and get some bloody revenge, showing an unlikely antagonist in this scary but hilariously unexpected horror-comedy. This storyline provides some fantastic suspense and the resulting fight between the characters and that terrifying vegetable provides that great mixture of suspense and lighthearted humor that Make this project rather unique. Let's meet those who survive a hilariously deadly night– a mix of seasoned actors and exciting up-and-coming stars! These young talented actors make the fright fun!
Actor: Peyton Elizabeth Lee is a New Yorker whose career goes back to commercials, and her big breakout was Disney’s Andi Mack. She's also been in tons of other awesome Disney projects like The Lion Guard, Secret Society of Second-Born Royals, Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., and Prom Pact. She’s great, both as a movie and TV actress.
Character: Kira's the talented writer and director of Cedar Creek’s theatre troupe and is Trevor's older sister; she has a complicated relationship with Trevor who is largely protected and raised by Kira and Cody – adding another unexpected yet well-thought-out relationship within the ensemble. She’s trying to leave this seriously haunted town for a far brighter future along with her actor boyfriend. There’s additional tension; the possibility of her escape may depend entirely upon some very well-concealed secrets and some surprising truths regarding one character and one particular individual and this conflict greatly defines this show.
Actor: Wyatt Lindner’s acting career launched in 2020, appearing in those critically lauded works like Little American and Titans. But that role that will catapult him to superstardom, is Preston in Afraid, followed by this project which continues those genre experiences.
Character: Trevor’s Kira's anxious younger brother, heavily impacted by a serious tragedy in his life and very close to Kira and Cody. He's surprisingly capable for somebody so anxious, adding layers to his character which makes him appear quite realistically troubled. He is another significant aspect for how much tension already exists before those frightening events unfold.
Actor: Corey Fogelmanis is from Thousand Oaks. He began with Girl Meets World. His impressive filmography boasts roles in shows such as PrankMe, Into the Dark, and Netflix’s My Life With The Walter Boys. Character: Cody’s Kira's actor boyfriend; planning that exit with Kira to start new life outside that scary small town. This provides the backdrop for much of this project’s later focus on characters seeking some peace from this small village. But guess what! There’s a killer secret.
Actor: Sasha Mason, a remarkably prolific young actor with early appearances like Novitiate and Ozark. This movie role truly became the one which would give her recognition.
