Starfield Shattered Space DLC: Vortex Horrors, New Monsters & More!

Bethesda's Starfield has a new expansion pack coming out called Shattered Space and it looks like it's about to become a smash hit!

This DLC changes things up significantly for Starfield. Unlike the original game which focused on exploring a large universe, Shattered Space takes players to one planet, Va'run'kaai. It’s all about discovering more in this area. This allows developers to really build a deep lore and story.

Players explore the planet and encounter a bunch of new quests and characters that expand on the lore. There are also tons of new monsters making their way into the series that make this a much harder game.

New Monsters

This game is not your father's Starfield. There are some terrifying new enemies and players get to face them in several cool new ways! You might encounter:

Vortex Horrors
Redeemed
Phantoms

The Redeemed are actually Zealots who became something terrifying! As for Phantoms, they show up when players explore the Oracle and can disappear at will. It seems this ability will help to bring the players down quick as they get hit with powerful lightning strikes!

Vortex Horrors

Among the new enemies the Vortex Horrors are some of the most feared. What makes them truly awesome is that they pop up seemingly at random! Some Reddit users have seen them show up as players are involved with certain quests, too.

These level 49 mini-bosses appear out of the darkness with terrifying speed! What's truly scary, is they're able to unleash devastating attacks rapidly and can drain a player's med supplies quickly! The appearance and what they unleash make them so powerful.

Some Reddit users even suggested theories as to why they show up. It might be that these monsters like places where you can see this blue goo. Others said it might have to do with killing Phantoms. They might even come from a new dimension, tying in with that eerie, strange, blue goo!

Why You Should Fight Vortex Horrors

While they're scary and will probably obliterate you, Vortex Horrors are still worth battling!

There's an achievement for killing at least 25 of them!
You'll be able to make Vortex Grenades which seem super awesome!

Fighting them is also necessary for obtaining certain items.

If you're a fan of Starfield or just love intense combat, then Shattered Space is something to check out. These new monsters bring even more to the game and it gives an opportunity for a huge variety. If you thought Starfield was only good for those with experience, think again! The Vortex Horrors can really challenge your skills, and give even hardcore Starfield fans an amazing new journey. With Bethesda constantly expanding, what's coming next may truly shock players!
