Time Setting Theory of the Fantastic Four: 1960s Expressed
When Marvel Studios at last revealed who would star in the reboot, a concept art image of The Fantastic Four cast in the MCU surfaced. But several hints in the picture led one to believe The Fantastic Four will take place in the 1960s. The images of the approaching movie have a distinctly 1960s look based on some of the objects shown in the picture and the clothes the characters are wearing, which would also help to explain a lot of the team's absence in the present MCU chronology.
There have also been ideas that the MCU will somehow transfer The Fantastic Four into the present via time travel, should they be indeed occurring in the past. Another scenario that has been hypothesised is that The Fantastic Four exists in a different universe entirely in addition to being historical. That might also help to explain why the Fantastic Four characters have never been referenced during the present.

The Fantastic Four throughout the 1960s
As part of the current MCU chronology, Spideyvegas performed The Fantastic Four in contemporary attire. These suits fit what many MCU heroes now wear as part of their costumes and have more armored-based design.
Working together, Stacxtivist, Astrlynart, Art of Legion, and Zippexe presented The Fantastic Four cast members with 1960s-directly sourced clothing. These are more laid-back than armor, but their designs clearly show that the creators were investigating what it would look like if the hypothesis the movie depends on is accurate from the 60s.
