DC has given a glimpse of what lies ahead in the event with a preview of titles connected to the Absolute Power due in September just weeks away. DC Comics is publishing the new one-shot Absolute Power: Super Son #1, which centers Superman's son Jon Kent, even while the main series and its several tie-ins will be on their third issue. But this title makes it quite evident that Absolute Power will present a challenging road for the younger Superman.
Timms's primary cover for the issue features the teenage Superman as he seems to be in conversion into a tech hybrid. Super Son #1 is an enormous one-shot produced by artists John Timms and Travis Mercer as well as writers Nicole Maines (Suicide Squad: Dream Team) and Sina Grace (Superman: The Harvests of Youth). According to the sought-after literature, Jon Kent has "suffered more than most at the hands of the Trinity of Evil" and that Absolute Power's first two issues chronicle incidents. Though this new narrative follows Superman's son to the "depths of despair," it also marks a "critiical new chapter in his heroic journey."
Born as Superman and Lois's child, Jon debuted formally during the DC Rebirth era. Jon is exactly like his father, a gentle man driven just to use his abilities for good. For a good few years, Jon was the Superboy for the DC Universe; but, it was a label he would outgrow shockingly fast. On Earth-3, Jon left with his paternal grandfather Jor-El to develop his talents, and Ultraman captured him, so imprisoning Superboy for years.
Returning home fully grown in Superman #6 (2018) Jon stunned his parents! Jon headed back to the Prime Earth from almost grown. Not too long after that, his father set out to free Warworld from Mongul's dictatorial tyranny. Earth Knowing it was in safe hands, Superman left the planet formally passing the baton to Jon, therefore arming the planet with a fresh Man of Steel. Jon answered calls to duty with seriousness. Jon retained the title after his father finally returned from Warworld, therefore arming the DC Universe with two Supermen to protect it.
Though quick and unanticipated, this event might help to solve a puzzle that Absolute Power #2 presents on its cover. The primary cover features Superman at the Fortress of Solitude accompanied by a mysterious, robotic figure, while the requested text stated that Waller's enforcers were under the direction of a "shocker general." Although everyone's conjecture as to the identity of this enigmatic person was different, it is reasonable to believe that his own son is the one throttling Superman. But why is Amanda Waller turning the young Superman instead of pilfering his abilities like everyone else?
If Jon is helpless, then Waller would have less trouble turning him into the cybernetic being he resembles on the Absolute Power: Super Son covers. Brainiac Queen and Failsafe, Waller's Trinity of Evil colleagues, may be the ones in charge of giving Jon his new shape given their technological capabilities. Though this will have a significant impact on Jon Kent, it's still unclear why Waller would want to change him based on the sounds of the solicitation.
Right now Jon Kent is not looking great. If one thing can be remembered, nevertheless, this drastic metamorphosis marks a chapter in Superman's overall heroic path. Maybe Jon is headed for villainy. It appears for a little duration as well. DC Comics is making it abundantly evident, nevertheless, that the road of the newest Man of Tomorrow is eventually a heroic one. Though Jon undergoes a startling metamorphosis, it could appear hopeless; yet, Superman will find his way back to be a hero no matter what occurs.
Absolute Power: DC Comics has Super Son #1 arriving on September 18th.
An future one-shot will look at Jon Kent's darkest days since things are about to change for Superman's kid. As Absolute Power approaches, fans are beginning to see the terrible metamorphosis ahead for the youthful Man of Steel.
Amanda Waller has been covertly trying to eradicate the universe of metahumans. As Absolute Power releases, her dark work is going to materialize and will drastically affect the most powerful heroes in the DC Universe. A new Absolute Power tie-in will look at Jon Kent's extraordinary transformation and what it implies for his future.
According to the soliciting text, Jon Kent will experience "more suffering than most at the hands of the Trinity of Evil" and follow the events of the first two Absolute Power chapters. Though this fresh narrative will drive Superman's son to the "depths of despair," it also marks a "crucial new chapter in his heroic journey".
The soliciting-included covers offer a small yet horrifying window into Jon Kent's destiny. Timms presents the teen Superman on the main cover of the issue as though he is in the middle of undergoing tech hybrid transformation. Jon is shown at several stages of his new shape on the alternative covers supplied by Lucio Parrillo and Reiko Murakami. While Parrillo's cover shows the possible ending to the younger Superman's horrific metamorphosis into a cyborg monster, Murakami's variation shows Jon as essentially human.
