Starfield Mod Adds 16 New Points of Interest
The "Avontech Suit Power Cores" mod by kaos_nyrb adds 16 new points of interest to Starfield. These "Geo-Energy Emissions" can be found across the galaxy and each one contains a "Geo-Energy Crystallization" that can be acquired for a single-use suit upgrade. Players must defeat the Core Reavers who guard each new point of interest to gain access to 31 new suit improvements.
These new suit improvements can range from dealing additional damage to protecting against specific elements or even buffing the character's stealth. The mod adds variety and challenge to the game, which is something that Starfield needs.
Could Spark A Trend In Starfield Modding
Some members of the Starfield community are hoping that kaos_nyrb's mod will spark a new trend in modding. Players are hoping that other modders will create entire "point of interest" packs that simply add new landmarks, events, and objects that could randomly spawn when landing on a planet. This would add even more variety to the game.
These packs could then be shared through Creations on the modding hub Nexus Mods, which would allow players to expand their Exploration options even further. The modding community has the potential to really improve Starfield by adding content that Bethesda might not have had time to create themselves.
Starfield's Universe Is Currently Sparse
One of the most common complaints about Starfield is that the game's worlds are surprisingly sparse. Despite the promise of a massive universe, the Points Of Interest players discover are often repetitive and lack originality. This makes exploring the game's worlds feel less rewarding.
This lack of variety is a major issue for a game that focuses on Exploration. Players are not incentivized to break away from the main quest and experience the game's side content. The lack of unique discoveries makes the world feel less interesting and exciting to explore.
Bethesda Working On Major Expansion
Bethesda is currently working on the first major expansion for Starfield, Shattered Space. However, the modding community is also working hard to improve the game with new content. Mods have yet to make it to Starfield on Xbox, but once the Creation Club becomes available, there are a few mods all Xbox players should download.
The advent of Creations could be what makes Starfield a success in the eyes of the community. Players are now able to access new content without needing to wait on official updates from Bethesda. While smaller patches are planned for the future, the modding community will help to improve Starfield's content in the meantime.
