Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 – 10 Factions That NEED to Be in Future DLC!
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is awesome. It does a phenomenal job bringing various Warhammer factions to life with incredibly detailed and vivid environments and amazing levels of detail and visual fidelity. But let's be honest, there's a whole galaxy of potential left untapped! Tons of amazing factions remain and can easily provide much-needed story content and opportunities for enhanced and even newly expanded gameplay; especially considering that additional variety to those awesome, existing combat mechanics that are really going to capture the attention of anyone!
This article looks at 10 factions ripe for future DLC— as either allies (or as enemies!). Whether you prefer that big, intense battles with alien hordes, intense fights with the most creative forms of weaponry or unexpected opportunities, this showcases an extremely broad and wildly creative expansion which should easily be seen and done, especially considering the immense level design.
The Tau are unique! They've got that classic sci-fi vibe – and an oddly positive outlook; which really clashes from many other Warhammer elements. They're also pretty new to the galactic scene and thus haven't dealt with much that truly threatens them – something not typical across this dark grim setting!
They also would bring some incredibly creative, new BattleMech designs that anyone who's been playing Titanfall would appreciate; however that really contrasts to Space Marine 2's core mechanics. The Tau's focus on ranged combat plus huge vehicles doesn’t mesh particularly well, creating another obstacle – it would necessitate changing story and even game design which is obviously unrealistic!
The Imperium of Man and the Aeldari (those incredibly ancient elves) have this really complex, uneasy relationship which really creates a wide scope of opportunity; these include surprising moments of temporary alliances; making them worthy potential allies that could add depth and meaning to future expansions which need this kind of depth added!
Their Craftworlds are these absolutely massive space habitats; filled with totally unique cultures. The Aeldari could make for excellent NPCs in a DLC; working alongside the Ultramarines against serious threats; thus they provide key strategic advantages while providing insight against far, far greater foes which makes for unexpected combat scenarios!
Unlike the more peaceful Aeldari, the Drukhari (aka Dark Eldar) are these super sadistic pirates. They are instantly recognizable as extremely cruel and very inhuman; it adds tension to how those levels might play, compared to how typical Space Marine scenarios play out. This would easily enhance gameplay!
Think lightning-fast raids; brutal strikes; intense action! A unique gameplay mode: defending ships, getting valuable items while facing these ruthlessly efficient foes. Even having Drukhari as just minor enemies creates great action; quickly overwhelming players through their extreme mobility and extreme offensive combat styles.
The Leagues of Voltann are totally new to Warhammer! This would be fresh for many gamers! These guys, like spacefaring Dwarves that have their own take on humanoids and completely different methods of procreation which allows their development over millennia– could possibly become very valuable members for an additional DLC installment.
They wouldn’t necessarily be foes; these could add a lot; offering support roles in operations missions using mercenary capabilities – they offer their resources, technical knowledge for better firepower. It’s surprising how often this kind of unique strategy has been used.
Instead of foes, the Adepta Sororitas (the Sisters of Battle) offer awesome support! They’re fanatic fighters against heresy; working alongside the Inquisition; bringing strong morale boosts while adding incredible levels of firepower that could’ve enhanced gameplay in various scenarios. They also add diversity!
Their background support in combat with those heavy bolters makes for interesting mechanics! These allies add something lacking within other gameplay elements within the game’s core features; creating some of the better fighting moments. The diversity factor, those all-female warriors? Totally amazing.
The Orks are iconic Warhammer 40k creatures; known as major players across the internet for various internet memes and jokes that helped expand its name. This means including them could have huge potential for increased and expanded fanbases! Their large, outlandish weapons and crazily fun vehicles totally benefit from Space Marine 2’s updated mechanics!
Using elements and borrowing directly from Space Marine's predecessor; the classic Orks and their crazy battle tactics would be a fantastic option.
With one Chaos God already around (Tzeentch), another is easily feasible! Khorne’s followers, the World Eaters, are made of intense, close combat. These range from those super tough Chaos Marines to enormous Daemonic Archfiends; creating some extremely tough boss fights for those involved! And who might possibly want this particular challenge? Players who loved the previous game might want this particularly added experience in the new sequel.
It creates chances to use existing characters. These enemies also bring amazing possibilities– showing Chairon and his Ultramarines taking sweet revenge against those traitorous warriors! A moment worthy of the most anticipated game expansion, in a long, ongoing rivalry!
While Khorne rules intense close-quarters combat; Nurgle, that Chaos God of death and decay, provides another unique challenge! His Death Guard (those horribly diseased, undead warriors) adds serious horror to the fights. It uses their mutated and gruesome appearance effectively within Space Marine 2; enhancing its intense horror gameplay to terrifying heights.
Their presence adds unique boss fights with insane hordes of zombies; generating terrifying levels of enemy encounters. Those Death Guard armor, already seen in Eternal War makes for more flexibility to easily add this addition; becoming some of the most iconic scenes, generating enormous amounts of potential.
With Tyranids already involved; the Genestealer Cults are perfect candidates! Their purpose? Preparing planets for invasion! Most were assimilated by the Tyranids already, but plenty would remain to unleash intense horror, adding further and greater complexity to this plotline; creating those unique unexpected battle scenes and plot twists that everyone needs in any expansion. The resulting Tyranids and Genestealer Cults generate even further gameplay potential. This expansion further helps generate even more of that intense, extremely detailed gameplay already highlighted across this current game's amazing and varied gameplay scenarios!
Besides the Chaos Gods and Tyranids, the Necrons are that truly supreme threat to everything – not only humanity and all of mankind, but everyone. Their unique capabilities completely showcase their threat in a manner typical of this universe and their story creates massive excitement; capable of wiping out entire galaxies easily.
Those ancient weapons obliterate everything and these undead warriors are crazy tough, possessing self-revival capabilities which makes this a worthy and anticipated encounter for the player and other fans; especially those people anticipating the possibility of a full-scale war with this ancient, immortal race!
Space Marine 2 already excels, providing many different gameplay and story opportunities! However, all those fantastic additional options highlighted here demonstrate a surprisingly easily attainable goal which is that those various Warhammer 40k factions can add many types of improvements. They’re ripe for adding to that expanding universe; expanding storylines and enriching gameplay to insane levels!
Those factions presented add tremendous variety, allowing more creative and unique gameplay designs across a wider array of story elements; expanding opportunities available from many diverse sources. Whether it involves new enemies or surprise allies – and regardless of whether this happens through further DLC expansions or even new entries within the existing franchise, including even one of these additions has tremendous value.
