The message should have remained mysterious but the Italian subtitles just laid out the answer - "Why did you kill me?" was visible!

The Quick Fix
It didn't take very long! Luckily, it turns out there were a bunch of gamers who experienced the glitch and quickly informed Bloober Team, the game's developers, about the issue. An update (version 1.003.000) came out so quickly it made all those fans happy who still hoped to experience this plot twist for the first time. With the update in place the subtitles for this key moment was fully corrected.
Still A Great Game
Despite this issue there is no question. For the gamers out there that didn't get spoiled this was still a success! Silent Hill 2 Remake did exceptionally well overall, with positive feedback! Even the reviewers and gamers love the story! The whole storyline is designed to bring lots of mysteries that could take several playthroughs for gamers who wish to experience it all! For this horror-based Remake, its fanbase couldn't be happier and that was certainly the case here as it has remained highly-rated!
