Thanks to its gripping narrative, intense action scenes, and ensemble of likeable characters, the show boasts a cult following.
From the Acolyte, what should one expect?
Showrunner for The Acolyte Leslye Headland recently revealed in an interview how many seasons she hopes the program would continue, therefore expressing her passion for the brand. On June 4, Disney+ will premiere the newest Star Wars TV show, The Acolyte. The program is drawing a lot of interest partially because it marks a period of the Star Wars chronology not yet seen on-screen. Set 100 years before the prequel trilogy, The Acolyte will depict the inner workings of the Jedi during the High Republic Era.
Strong evidence already presented by the Acolyte indicates that it will precisely do that. Apart from exposing various fresh Jedi Masters and Padawans from the teasers and trailers of the program, it is also clearly intriguingly bucking convention. First of all, many newly appointed Jedi—including Master Kelnatta, the first live-action Wookiee Jedi in Star Wars canon—are non-human. Along with new, mysterious dark side Force-users one of whom picks blades over the usual lightsaber, the Acolyte will also feature a Force-sensitive coven of witches.
Acolyte's Evolution
Showrunner Leslye Headland recently said in Collider that she would be happy to keep working on the program for the foreseeable future, hence this age obviously presents much for The Acolyte to study. Headland remarked, "This is the job I want. I'm saying three [seasons] since I'm hoping they'll let me do that, but if I could click my fingers, it would just be, this is my work till I retire. Working on Star Wars is the only higher creative or career pinnacle I can see. I am hence really rather good. I'm not especially driven to do anything else."
Despite The Acolyte's endurance, the future of the program is yet undetermined. Showrunner Leslye Headland is delighted to be hired on for the long haul, hence it is obvious that the program has a bright future. Given that The Acolyte takes place 100 years before The Phantom Menace, the show would also have enough content to cover should the franchise wish to continue the tale. Headland's remarks on Star Wars: The Acolyte strongly imply that the program will be a lot of fun even if the future is yet unknown.
