Ark Players Not Content About Pay-To- Win DLC
After the announcement of Pyromane's personal pricing tag, people started berating the choice on X (previously Twitter), calling the beflamed lion a "pay to win" addition unfit for Ark.
Since everyone can access The Center for free, they argue that those who buy the tame will have an unfair advantage during PvP sessions. The other most frequent complaint is the quantity of material gamers may access as past DLC packs could be bought in their whole for one fee instead of in piece.
Ark: Survival Ascended: Center Underfire Over Recently Published Pyromane
The large community of Ark: Survival Ascended is not very happy with how Studio Wildcard is releasing Pyromane, the newest species, even as it explores a different monetizing strategy. Following months of waiting, The Center, a free add-on created in collaboration with a team of gifted modders, formally debuted on Steam on June 5 and although some users are happy with the huge map, others have been left chilly and irritated by its deployment. Apart from performance problems, the community worries that Pyromane's arrival would provide a negative example for next releases.
Studio Wildcard acknowledged on the official Ark blog that with the Fantastic Tames DLC, which charges for a single new creature—a first for the long-running survival game—it was bucking convention. Traditionally, gamers who buy a DLC pack get everything for a single fee; yet, given the Pyromane costs $5 for just the one tame, people anticipate the same will apply for any animals added under the Fantastic Tames name. Noting that a single paid tame is "new territory" and will help the developers, Studio Wildcard has not yet confirmed whether this is the case.
The possibilities of pyromane
One has to acknowledge that despite player's concerns regarding the precedent Pyromane could make in Ark: Survival Ascended, it's quite interesting beast. Unique amid the pantheon of over amazing species in The Center, the firey lion can transform from a shoulder-sitting pet to a full-sized mount with just one button. All "biome-appropriate sites" contain pyromane, hence gamers should begin looking for some literal hot spots.
Beyond this, the creature could indicate a change to a whole different business model that may allienate gamers reluctant to spend more on minor expansions, regardless of whether Pyromane becomes a problem in PvP games. Studio Wildcard hasn't yet addressed community worries.
Reactions of the Community
Despite Studio Wildcard's insistence that the money spent on Pyromane will support the developers, many fans are seeing that as a justification to hike the price on DLC add-ons.
Though Ark: Survival Ascended features several incredible dinosaurs, the community has produced plenty more interesting choices fit for the base game. The choice of the developers to charge for a single species might only alienate the society more.
Value of the Center
After months of waiting, The Center, a free add-on created in concert with a team of gifted modders, formally debuted on Steam on June 5 and although some users are happy with the large map, others have been left chilly and annoyed by its deployment. The community built the Center; so, it should be accessible to everyone to enjoy free of charge.
Apart from performance problems, the community worries about Pyromane's introduction creating a negative precedent for next editions. Players of this long-standing survival game are wondering whether this is the new economic model moving ahead, and the prospect is not a good one.
