If true, the character banner leaks for Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 may finally make me invest in a 5-star unit’s Eidolons instead of saving up for new playable characters. Version 2.6 is the next major update in HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG and rumors indicate that it will take players back to Penacony. There is only one new character confirmed for the patch. The 5-star Imaginary character Rappa in Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 will not debut alongside any new character during the update, based on both the developer’s teasers and leaks about the patch.
There are also leaks about some of the new characters arriving after Version 2.6. There have been multiple mentions about Sunday’s playable form in Version 2.7, for example, as well as leaks stating that Tingyun will make her return as a 5-star character. This would be a new and isolated version of Tingyun, much like the 5-star Imbibitor Lunae is to the regular 4-star Dan Heng. Despite that, there have been leaks about the character banner structure before the Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 livestream, and it is making me think about acquiring Eidolons for a character I already own.
Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 Banners Have Leaked
While Rappa is confirmed as the new 5-star for Version 2.6, the rerun characters have not yet been officially revealed. However, a series of leaks has teased the return of some of the game’s best characters. According to information provided by StepLeaker, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae, Acheron, and Aventurine may be the rerun characters for Version 2.6. HoYoverse has yet to confirm this, but the rerun characters seem like great options in Honkai: Star Rail – and one of them may be worth pulling for over new characters.
Acheron’s Leaked Rerun In Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 May Be Better Than New Characters
Usually, I reserve my Stellar Jade to acquire new characters. By doing so, I widen my roster and, thus, my possibilities when building team comps for several of the activities, be they farming-related, limited-time events, or even main story quests. With Sunday’s playable version and Tingyun’s new form in Honkai: Star Rail rumored to be on the horizon, I’d normally feel compelled to pull for them. However, the prospect of Acheron’s rerun banner in Version 2.6 is enticing. The 5-star Lightning character is one of the best DPS units in the game, and she works spectacularly well with Nihility characters.
At the moment, I’m more inclined to pull for Acheron once again and work on increasing her Eidolon levels, something that I do not normally do with any 5-star unit. Nevertheless, Acheron is already my main DPS, taking priority over powerful characters like Firefly, Blade, Jingliu, and even Feixiao. If any activity features enemies with Lightning weakness, I’m bound to use Acheron’s team comp to face them because of just how well-built and how strong she is in my roster. With extra Eidolon levels, Acheron may become unstoppable in activities, even those without Lightning weakness in Honkai: Star Rail.
Building Acheron in Honkai: Star Rail is very straightforward. Here’s how to transform her into your strongest DPS and the best team comps for her. My Acheron already has a solid CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG distribution of 77% and 129%, respectively, but with E1 (Eidolon level 1), I could increase her CRIT Rate by an impressive 18% when dealing damage to debuffed enemies – which should be always since my Acheron is always inserted into a Nihility team comp. With E2, I could potentially charge Acheron’s Ultimate a lot quicker than usual thanks to the extra point of Slashed Dream upon the beginning of her turn. I wouldn’t necessarily benefit from the reduction of the number of required Nihility characters for The Abyss Trace. For reference, The Abyss sees that, when there are one or two Nihility characters other than Acheron in the team comp, the DMG dealt by her Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate increases to 115% or 160% of the original DMG, respectively.
