Best PS Games: A Casual Gamer's Guide to Epic Adventures
Hey fellow gamers! So you're on the hunt for the best ps games? Awesome! Picking the ultimate list is tough – tastes vary wildly. But instead of just listing titles like some robotic critic, I’m here to give you my gamer-to-gamer perspective on some titles and even hint on where you can search to locate additional resources, especially if you need a bit more specific filtering parameters.
I'll tackle both the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and the PlayStation 5 (PS5) since many have questions specifically concerning what "best games out right now for PS4" are; That includes titles across both current and previous generations!
My focus however remains on selecting categories that truly highlight what might prove more suitable to someone on the hunt for a great gameplay. That includes several perspectives beyond just graphical and other obvious technical specifications; which for some audiences simply is insufficient. Most other lists merely throw out names; this does more!
Best PS Games for Every Gamer (Even You, Yes You!)
To avoid getting too repetitive or sounding robotic I will list categories with subcategories to avoid focusing too much on titles, and include some other recommendations. Because seriously trying to include everything would be far too massive! Expect however my subjective opinion expressed on what types and styles of gameplay should be considered.
The whole genre concept plays here a massive part, this list alone cannot fully highlight the various choices which are both enjoyable and widely appreciated, so these categories should help with classifying a preferred category – It really helps finding a better suitable choice.
- Action-Adventure Blockbusters:
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales – This is so cool! It is one of my absolute favourites, both visually but the story also felt deeply personal.
- Horizon Forbidden West – Incredible visuals, action and exploration combined; This is so fun, if you enjoy adventure style gaming I suggest this one!
- Ghost of Tsushima – The setting alone made it an amazing game; The art design and the storytelling itself were remarkable! I do strongly recommend if you are an open world type of player
- RPG Adventures:
- Final Fantasy VII Remake – If you love RPGs, the graphics alone makes it one of the best PS4 titles; It takes a classic RPG and improves it immensely.
- Persona 5 Royal – The storyline is so captivating. It's not just the RPG part – the social life interactions actually create a more remarkable gaming experience. One that is highly memorable
- Elden Ring – This really showcases an amazingly difficult yet so rewarding gameplay that some absolutely love and I am among those – However I should warn that this can get incredibly challenging, both plot-wise and even more critically, when considering that gameplay can be a massive challenge; if you love to explore open worlds – this shouldn’t be missed.
- Sports and Racing Games:
- Gran Turismo 7 – Absolutely superb racing title! The visuals alone will make some marvel in admiration. To properly enjoy however the single player story-mode, is amazing!
- NBA 2K23 – Great basketball simulations! Even without being an enthusiast it is easily accessible – very fun even in simpler modes.
- FIFA 24 – If you’re a football/soccer fan – It really captures what it makes these sports great! Many online communities constantly support FIFA and that also impacts its online multiplayer gaming community as well.
- Other amazing and widely loved games:
- God of War Ragnarok - this has been widely loved; if you enjoyed the earlier installments, expect this one to surpass many expectations!
- The Last of Us Part II – Even those that have only heard or never played this are generally well aware of it; That alone shows its major impact.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 – The setting alone deserves all awards, a fantastic experience of exploration and unique story telling.
Remember this isn’t an exhaustive list – There are tons of other amazing games out there – I included however the most often recommended by both reviewers and various other online communities and the reasons they get such outstanding rankings
