Chris Bremner, co-writer Ride or Die, hints to possible Bad Boys 5 locations based on the international story concept of Adil and Bilall. Starting in 1995 with Miami detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) investigating high-stakes crimes, the buddy cop franchise began with Michael Bay's first two films and included Adil & Bilall's upcoming Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Adil El Arbi hinted in a recent interview that, although unverified, Bad Boys 5 would "go international" and visit London, Paris, or Asia.
Now, following El Arbi's notion for the franchise going worldwide, Bremner hinted at some possible locations for Bad Boys 5 during an exclusive interview with Screen Rant. The co-writer of The Ride brought up the prospect of a fifth movie touring Europe, Southeast Asia, or maybe the Middle East. Please find his whole comments below:
Although the Bad Boys films generally take place in Miami, the successors have visited different locations. The two sequels departed Miami and explored other areas in Latin America to keep the franchise feeling new after the original movie was set totally in the city. Marcus and Mike set out on a mission to save Syd, who was kidnapped by drug boss Tapia, in Bad Boys II, then find themselves outside of Guantanamo Bay.
Marcus and Mike's journey in Bad Boys for Life results in Mexico City to confront Isabel at the Hidalgo Palace. Bad Boys: Ride or Die will probably follow the pattern of Marcus and Mike's quest carrying them outside Miami for the final third-act conclusion, even though it's not obvious where the next edition will visit. Marcus and Mike's research could bring them to the southeast European nation since the fourth movie does find the late Captain Howard posthumously accused of dealing with the Romanian Mafia.
Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, Joe Pantoliano, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Jacob Scipio, DJ Khaled, Tasha Smith, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Rhea Seehorn, Melanie Liburd and Tiffany Haddish comprise the Bad Boys: Ride or Die cast.
Although Bad Boys 5 is still in development and most likely dependent on Ride or Die's movie office results, El Arbi's concept for going global is a wonderful approach to keep the franchise feeling fresh. Given that Bremner notes, Southeast Asia could be a fascinating place for the fourth movie to look at given viewers have come to connect with Miami's tropical aspects. Bad Boys 5 would be better off looking at new sites to maintain the franchise atmosphere because the Movies have already visited Latin America several times.
The fourth action-comedy film series starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has as a tentative title Bad Boys 4. As they try to block the flow of illegal drugs in their city, hard-boiled Miami detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett—who take on deadly drug kingpins and thwart risky schemes—take front stage in the series.
Comedy and action have long been mixed in the show, which has helped the franchise to stay appealing to audiences. A fifth film has a fair possibility of succeeding considering the lucrative nature of the franchise and the close relationship fans have to the major characters. The series has consistently managed to recruit gifted performers, hence the directors and producers should have little trouble assembling a strong cast and crew for this next part.
Though I honestly think Southeast Asia may be a quite fascinating place for the Bad Boys to investigate, my opinion is worth very little. Like Miami, which they value, it has tropical components. Europe might also be cool. We have visited portions of Latin America, I believe. We could keep visiting there, but it seems as though the fresh land might be Europe, Southeast Asia, or something else entirely. Perhaps Middle Eastern. Also rather awesome would be that.
The series' production crew has always made great effort to make sure the filming sites fit the demands of the narrative. Bad Boys 5 might produce an amazing fresh addition to the movie series by moving the action to a new worldwide location. This might produce an interesting blend of exotic locations and the humorous connection between the main protagonists, therefore guaranteeing the relevance of the Bad Boys series to modern viewers.
