Still regarded as being as vital and relevant today as it was decades ago, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' *Watchmen* is a classic graphic novel that has inspired and impacted innumerable comic book industry and beyond authors. Driven by imperfect people who fans love to detest, The Comedian is one such rough-around-the-edges "hero," with a recent cosplay image giving The Comedian a new design that incorporates *Watchmen's* trademark smiley face emblem wonderfully.
Shared on Instagram by @batsturd, this prodigious skill is not new in terms of generating never-before-seen designs; most of them mix well-known comic characters to create hybrid heroes and villains unique to the Cosplay community.
Published in 1986, *Watchmen* — together with its recognizable Smiley Face logo marred by a single drop of blood — has become a fundamental aspect of comic book history and has been held up as a key reflection on the superhero genre the medium has depended on for decades. Also getting some live-action love in the years since its release, *Watchmen* has been adapted for Hollywood by filmmaker Zack Snyder and even received a pseudo-sequel in HBO's critically praised limited series of the same name, with @batsturd's Comedian Cosplay continuing to honor the source material in the best way.
It's @batsturd's choice to tint his cosplay a shade of smiley face-yellow that helps to make this image pop, so proving that The Comedian's design can still look fresh decades after his debut. Dressed in a pitch-perfect Comedian costume that nails the look of the protective pads, shotgun, domino mask, smile button, and, of course, signature cigar. With the notion of redesigning *Watchmen's* button emblem as an official element of his design being an inspired one, @batsturd communicates the arrogant but fantastic nature of the Comedian in a way that doesn’s not disappoint under a backdrop of smiling cutouts.
After seeing what he has done with the character here, it could be time for @batsturd to create a crossover cosplay that mixes the Comedian with Batman, Wolverine, the Puncher, or maybe a brand-new character @batsturd has yet to adapt for the real world. He has worn more than one costume in *Watchmen* lore one of which @batsturd has similarly adapted into cosplay form. Although the cosplay scene doesn't always show the most affection for Watchmen's Comedian, @batsturd on the case lets fans relax knowing someone is performing the role right.

Considered as one of the best graphic novels in history, *Watchmen* earned the Hugo award for the chronicle of falling from grace. The same author who created *V for Vendetta* will have you truly enjoy this innovative series. The photographs are high-quality and recolored, which will increase their tremendous gratification value.
One of the best specimens of the quality of this work are the cosplay photographs here. Fans of cosplay and comics should not miss this.
With each new look confirming @batsturd as one of the best cosplayers around, Dressing as a Batman x Puncher combo named Bat-Punisher, a Wolverine x Venom hero named Wolvenom, and even different variants of both The Dark Knight and Wolverine has also tried his hand at embodying DC's Lobo, 2000 A.D.
@batsturd continues to be unique and the cosplay scene is a dynamic place. Given his ability and inventiveness, it's hardly surprise how well-known he is for his cosplaying.
