Who is Akihiro, Wolverine's Son?
Akihiro, also known as Daken, is Wolverine's son and has a complicated history within Marvel Comics. He was initially introduced as a villain, but after forming relationships with mutant heroes and overcoming some of the darkness he's faced, he's transitioned to a more heroic character. Akihiro has been a somewhat morally-grey figure throughout his early appearances and those characters have had some complex challenges as he navigated his own struggles with his own perSonal, internal struggles with those characters that have challenged him in new ways. Sadly, his more heroic moments weren't enough to save him from being taken by a demonic force: the Bagra-ghul, the demonic force that transformed him into a villain known as "Hellverine."
Now, Akihiro is returning with a new series set to launch on December 18. As this new series unfolds: "Hellverine," it continues to be filled with those challenging moments that give Akihiro a new, perspective on his own powers - which he has to master in a different manner. While he has to come to terms with that demonic force, he also has to understand how to navigate the struggles, and complexities that go along with being a mutant.
