Boruto Developed a New Jutsu Based on the Flying Raijin
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has already shown that the main character is on the way to surpassing his father, Naruto, but it also seems that Boruto has passed his grandfather, Minato, by improving his strongest jutsu and signature move: Flying Thunder God (Flying Raijin). This is because Boruto has attained an even higher level in the skills Minato was extremely proficient in.
The most surprising technique Boruto has learned while he was away is the Flying Thunder God, a jutsu created by Tobirama Senju but perfected by Minato. It is unclear who taught him, but the official database of Boruto revealed that Boruto's Flying Thunder God is completely different from Minato's.
Boruto Surpassed Minato In Another Way
Minato relied heavily on the destructive Rasengan that he created for Kushina. This jutsu was passed down through the generations. From Kakashi, Naruto, and Konohamaru to Boruto, the jutsu has gone through different tweaks, but Boruto's version of the Rasengan is by far the deadliest.
Known as the Rasengan Uzuhiko, it is an instant death sentence for anyone hit by it. The Uzuhiko works by using the rotation of the Earth and hitting an opponent with it. This chakra enters the person and does not stop spinning, completely disorienting the victim and messing with their perception and senses. Furthermore, it gradually damages the person until they die.
Boruto Improved His Grandfather's Signature Technique
Not much information about Boruto's version of the Flying Raijin was released, as it may play a big role in the future and will be fully explored. According to the limited info on the site, Kashin Koji helped Boruto make his own version of the Flying Raijin, and it can be considered a different Jutsu despite Boruto explicitly using the name. It has more limitations than Minato's, but no examples are given.
Based on what has been shown, it is possible to theorize how Boruto's version differs from Minato's. A huge difference is that Boruto used it to travel between dimensions when he followed Code to where the Ten-Tails hideout was. Minato never used it like this, and it is unknown if he could do it, as he never had the opportunity to do so. Interestingly, Boruto had to concentrate for a few seconds before teleporting to the dimension.
Boruto Just Took the Rasengan To a Whole New Level
The only way to stop the Rasengan Uzuhiko is by stopping the revolution of the Earth, which is impossible, or if Boruto deactivates it himself. Safe to say that the Rasengan Uzuhiko is one of the Naruto franchise's most powerful techniques. Minato did try to make a new variant of the Rasengan but was unable to do so, but Boruto managed to do it and made an incredible Jutsu.
Minato possessed three chakra natures but was shown to barely use them. This might be because the Flying Raijin and Rasengan were that reliable, but Boruto consistently uses all three chakra elements that he has to their full potential. The only thing left for Boruto now is to master Perfect Sage Mode and outclass Minato in all his techniques.
