HBO Max has a brand new show, "The Penguin", a spinoff from Matt Reeves' epic film The Batman. In the latest installment, we meet Oswald "Oz" Cobb (Colin Farrell), as he starts his criminal enterprise and attempts to rise in power! In "The Penguin", episode 3. A powerful drug called Bliss appears on the scene!
Bliss Explained:
The drug was first mentioned in the very first episode. What this drug actually is- some powerful chemical created from Bleeding Tooth Fungi! Bliss creates a state of euphoria in the users. The implications of the use is already giving viewers chills, but we learn more as Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti) reveals even more! It's been used in Arkham Asylum to pacify inmates, and viewers of the show may see the far-reaching impacts of this newly introduced substance! What's crazy, is Sofia Falcone has now teamed up with Oz Cobb, using this "Bliss" to launch a drug operation! It is clearly very powerful and might take this pair of power-hungry characters to the top.
Poison Ivy And Her Role In The Penguin
Fans are already theorizing what may come next and have incredible theories. A super villain is already thought to be pulling the strings! The speculation is that a DC icon is coming to make this a more explosive season: Poison Ivy! It's more likely than many think. As this could truly show the depth of a world we are going to get to know a lot better. Poison Ivy's incredible powers make it believable.

Another well-known villain is also predicted to have his own storyline come out. One of the other notorious characters is the Joker!
He already showed up in "The Batman" played by Barry Keoghan as a prisoner in Arkham Asylum.
Fans are waiting for some big insights into how "Bliss" impacted him as he is confined to this area and there has already been much said about the possibility of seeing Barry Keoghan's version of the Joker get some bigger, more powerful role in the movie! Bliss has also appeared earlier on.

Barry Keoghan's Joker And His Potential:
There is a great deal of attention to this version of the Joker. And after fans had high hopes for Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal, some feel that this version has potential for greatness, and it is entirely different than Joaquin Phoenix's approach in Joker: Folie à Deux, a new perspective is entirely expected as it looks to continue this new direction!
Some are feeling there isn't as much potential for Barry Keoghan's version, especially when considering that his version will bring the big-screen Joker to life, providing more than just those comic book scenes!
The introduction of Bliss makes it clear that this is an incredible story! As it is an opportunity for The Penguin and other Gotham villains to come to light as this storyline begins.
Even if you might not have caught all the "The Batman" episodes yet, "The Penguin" might just become one of those exciting, special shows for those that need to jump into some serious intrigue that will show just how powerful some of the characters in this DC series can become!
