September's ABSOLUTE POWER Titles have DC's Justice League on the Run.
DC Comics has been working toward Absolute Power since Joshua Williamson and Daniel Sampere's Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths ends. With the appearance of the "Trinity of Evil"—Batman's Failsafe, Superman's Brainiac Queen, and, of course, Amanda Waller herself—the heroes and super-powered community of the DC Universe has not seen a threat as severe as this for some time. The Justice League will be run underground by Waller's men, as the solicitation information for the first two Absolute Power issues show, and Absolute Power #3 seems to drive the heroes to a new low as they truly run for their lives.
For a prologue-like narrative for Waller's part in Absolute Power, fans might review Nicole Maines and Eddy Barrows' recently concluded Suicide Squad: Dream Team. Absolute Power FCBD Special Edition by Mark Waid and Mikel Janín provides still another prologue.
The ABSolute Power Event of DC is just starting to heat up.
September will also see the end of the three-issue series Absolute Power: Origins by John Ridley and Alitha Martinez, a much awaited examination of Amanda Waller's beginnings and motivations leading into her great coup for power. Absolute Power isn't just about one team between these miniseries and the various tie-ins to publications like Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, and more. Absolute Power will have significant effects on the Justice League and all of its allies across the DC Universe, hence DC fans of all stripes will want to pay attention to 2024's huge event.
Sept. 4th from DC Comics comes Absolute Power #3.
