Although Mephisto is rather important in the Marvel Universe, he hasn't yet made an Mcu appearance. For some time, especially on films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and shows like WandaVision, fans have been speculating on his look. Marvel Studios entering the supernatural realm (Agatha All Along, Werewolf By Night, and Blade) marks only a matter of time before Mephisto surfaces.
And what would you guess? Marvel Comics recently gave Mephisto a horrific fresh look ideal for the MCU. In Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance #5, Johnny Blaze and his friend Zeb are attempting to stop the Hood—who struck an agreement with Mephisto to become the new Ghost Rider. Mephisto must engage with the world using avatars since he is imprisoned in hell. And which option he decides upon? Obviously, a massive mound of rats! Together, all the rats wriggles and transform into a massive, horrible form of Mephisto.
Not forget Peter Fonda as Mephisto in the Ghost Rider film from 2007. Indeed, not exactly terrible. With Mephisto, the Mcu has the opportunity to do something far different and genuinely disturbing. They could use this eerie rat-Monster concept instead of merely having an actor inhabit the part. Consider it: Mephisto, the personification of evil, only shows up in the real world via these gross, wriggling pests. It's the ideal approach to depict his actual eerie and upsetting nature.
See the horror! Unlike merely another "red devil" character, this design would make Mephisto's presence really horrific. It would also mean Mephisto's appearances would be for only mature viewers. Cartoon devil misbehavior is no more! Mephisto would have a far more somber and terrifying aura.
Mephisto choose the rat form for what reason? Actually, his real body resides in hell. Though he didn't, he could have let the gates of hell open to handle Blaze and Zeb personally. That sort of seems like a bluff. And keep in mind in King in Black: Mephisto reclaimed his throne as King of Hell, so excluding Johnny Blaze from employment. Perhaps, just possibly, this caused him to become caught in hell. Should that be the case, his only means of interaction with the world could be this rat-Monster form.
The concept is fantastic for the MCU even if Mephisto isn't imprisoned with the rats indefinitely. Super creepy is a massive heap of wriggling, biting rats all shaped like the devil! And if the MCU can bring this to pass, it would be the ideal approach to present Mephisto in a major, terrifying manner. Prepare for some quite horrific Mephisto scenes!
