War Machine questions Iron Man in the most recent issue of The Invincible Iron Man, possibly souring their friendship. War Machine is at last free after months of wrongful imprisonment and facing down supervillains. Inquiring of Iron Man, "What happened to Feilong?"
The response is considerably darker than what War Machine could have envisioned. After the villain stole Tony Stark's company, Iron Man buried Feilong alive, used his tech to produce fresh Sentinels, and tried to wipe mutants. Feilong was a quite nasty villain. Along with destroying a note from Tony's father, he framed Tony for the crimes and killed his buddies. Though Feilong is a real jerk, even Iron Man finds it cruel to bury him alive.
Iron Man has killed before, generally in the course of war. This was a cold-blooded murderous deed. A decorated soldier with military knowledge, War Machine most likely would never support this type of behavior since he understands the guidelines of war.
Iron Man buried Feilong alive perhaps to frighten him, then will dig him back up. Iron Man might be acting for a valid cause. Iron Man's activities, though, would seem to strain his friendship with War Machine. Once the truth surfaces, what will happen?
