Original Director sends cautious script update for National Treasure 3.
Original movie director Jon Turteltaub has given a fresh update for National Treasure 3. Released in 2004, the first National Treasure presents viewers to adventurer Ben Gates of Nicolas Cage. The movie did well, and Crage came back for a sequel in 2007 together with co-stars Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha. The delayed progress of the movie makes it uncertain whether National Treasure 3 will ever be produced even if the involved people are passionate.
Appearing on the National Treasure Hunt podcast, Turteltaub offers a progress update on National Treasure 3 verifying that the movie is under development. The filmmaker notes, though, that the movie is not yet a certainty and will rely on the caliber of the finished script. See his complete comment down below.
What possible National Treasure 3 could be?
Though any sequel would most likely bring back Cage, Kruger, and Bartha, no details regarding the proposed third movie in the National Treasure series have been leaked. These three actors anchored the first two films, and it's hard to see a sequel without all three—especially Cage. Should all three performers come back for National Treasure 3, there are a few possible outcomes for the narrative.
Released on Disney Plus in 2022, a National Treasure TV series called National Treasure: Edge of History Though Bartha returned as Riley Poole and Harvey Keitel as Sadusky, the show was canceled after one season and received mostly unfavorable reviews.

The Future Chapter in the Series on National Treasures
"It's under writing. Although that doesn't mean it will be completed and fantastic, if it is being written it will surely be historic when we read it. We all know what it contains. However, right now there is a very, very brilliant writer working on it who usually produces very outstanding films. We are making the movie if the script comes out near perfect and you could see the finish line from where you are.
The third Jerry Bruckheimer franchise film is National Treasure 3, an action-adventure production. Benjamin Gates goes back to race against the possibly global altering plan of the Illuminati. The film runs concurrent with the Disney Plus series National Treasure: Edge of History.
An Introduction of the National Treasure Series's History
The first idea might center on a National Treasure: Book of Secrets story point. The President's Book, a hidden book in which American presidents over history have noted the secrets of their country, is a major feature in the second movie. Ben gets to glance at this book in National Treasure 2; the President calls his attention especially to page 47. Though it's never stated on page 47 of the President's Book, it may probably involve another centuries-old mystery Ben and his friends could try to solve.
On the other hand, National Treasure 3 might bring to light a whole fresh treasure. After all, it's been 17 years since the last movie in the series, and right now it could be the wiser action to start again. Whatever the final narrative of the new movie turns up, though, it will most definitely have roots in American history. Though Turteltaub's most recent update guarantees that the script has to be in the correct spot before anyone will be comfortable moving ahead with the film, it is yet unknown whether National Treasure 3 will go forward.
