JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Hirohiko Araki's Favorite & Least Favorite Stands

Stands: A Deep Dive with Creator Hirohiko Araki's Insights in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Hirohiko Araki's legendary manga and anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is well-known for its broad array of characters and their equally varied supernatural abilities, or Stands. These distinct, potent expressions of a character's fighting spirit frequently mirror their personality. It's not surprising that fans have standout Stands; even the creator has his favorites.

Favorite and Least Favorite Stands of Hirohiko Araki

Hirohiko Araki discussed his favorite Stand to draw—Shigekiyo Yangu's "Harvest" from the fourth arc, Diamond Is Unbreakable—in an interview with Anime News Network. He said, "One of my favorites Stands is Shigechi's (Shigekiyo Yangu's) 'Harvest.'"

But Araki also revealed which Stand—Killer Queen, or Deadly Queen in the manga—he found least appealing. "'Deadly Queen' in Part 4 is one that I struggled with, not in terms of creative quality but rather in terms of plot and story development. I thought I might have gone too far. If Josuke had been unable to defeat it, it would not have come as a surprise."

Shigechi's "Harvest": An Unparalleled Position

The shape of Shigechi's "Harvest" stands out from most others, making it a special stand. It is actually a swarm of tiny, bee-like animals that are each capable of acting on its own, rather than a single entity. Despite their relative weakness, they work together to launch potent attacks, which gives them an illusion of strength. These creatures may carry out unexpected ideas since they are crafty and cunning.

As the name suggests, "Harvest" is quite good at gathering things. Though Shigechi usually uses it to collect cash, these animals can also keep objects inside of them and have needles for injecting poison. Although it's not the most intimidating Stand, the inventor loves it because of its ingenious design and variety of uses.

Killer Queen: A Stealthy Proposition with a Careful Balance

Based on the Queen song of the same name, Killer Queen is a stand that is well-liked by fans for both its frightening appearance and its adaptability. Its main ability is to change objects into bombs, with numerous versions for various scenarios.

The most potent bomb ability of Killer Queen is Killer Queen Bites the Dust. Other bomb abilities include Sheer Heart Attack, a self-propelled, heat-seeking bomb; and Stray Cat, which employs air bombs. The purpose of Bites the Dust is to eliminate anyone who finds out about Kira Yoshikage right away, preventing them from learning who he really is.

Killer Queen's Strength: A Double-Edged Sword

Because of its immense potency, Killer Queen is Araki's least Favorite Stand even if it is very popular. He believed that because of its power, Josuke's win over it seemed less significant and plausible. Although Killer Queen has unquestionable strength, it can be difficult to keep the story's equilibrium.

JoJo's Odd Adventure: How Stands Affect Things

Stands are an essential component of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, giving the fights an additional level of intrigue and complexity. In addition to reflecting the personalities of the characters, their distinct skills and designs enable inventive and unexpected fight scenes. The way Araki discusses his favorite and Least Favorite Stands provides an insight into the thought process that went into creating this renowned series.

Without Stands, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure wouldn't be the same. They have grown to be a distinctive characteristic of the series, motivating a great number of fans and having a long-lasting effect.
