Introduced in House Of The Dragon season 2, episode 7 is Ulf a fresh character. Introduced as the half-brother of Daemon and King Viserys Targaryen, he claims to come from another country but his actual background is unknown. His Valyrian heritage lets him take part in the Sowing of the Seeds event, where Rhaenyra lets possible dragon riders seize dragons.

She connects with Ulf fast, even playfully shoving him over.

Silverwing is renowned for her friendliness and sensitivity for others. She muses over her former rider, Queen Alyssane Targaryen, who was renowned for her wisdom and compassion. Although Ulf's luck in claiming the dragon is indisputable, Silverwing might have been drawn to him as she knew Vermithor, who Hugh had recently claimed. Though they can mate, dragons have quite unusual romantic ties; Vermithor and Silverwing seem to have a close relationship. They could have noticed a relationship between their riders.

Joining Rhaenyra's side in the Dance of the Dragons, Ulf and Silverwing team with Hugh, Addam, and their dragons. Disenchanted with Rhaenyra's leadership, he and Hugh turn on her at the First Battle of Tumbleton, supporting the Greens. They go to be known as the Two Betrayers. Though less battle-hardened than some of the other dragons in the program, Silverwing is a big and strong dragon. Having flown under Queen Alyssane Targaryen, she is among the oldest dragons. Among the few dragons known to have developed a romantic relationship with another dragon is she as well. She most likely opted to bond with Ulf after Hugh claimed Vermithor as she is close to Vermithor.
