Fans of the beloved crime drama White Collar, which wrapped up back in 2012 after 6 seasons, were surprised when a reboot of the show was announced!

Why a White Collar Reboot Is a Big Deal

You see, White Collar wasn't your ordinary cop show. Fans got sucked into the awesome dynamic of Neal Caffrey (played by the charming Matt Bomer) who uses his smooth talking and super cunning skills, as a con artist! Neal, being a skilled criminal, is recruited to help Peter Burke (played by the ever so fantastic Tim DeKay). Both had amazing chemistry! What we loved is the cat and mouse, partner-in-crime kind of dynamic!

However, with the final episode bringing it to an end, a really solid, enjoyable end! It left viewers excited about what the future would bring.

Those who watched "White Collar" may know how great a ending it had, and you can understand why audiences loved it.

It's amazing how often reboots of beloved shows turn into something no one sees coming! What happens is that reboots often have big challenges, or even issues they have to fix after those unforgettable endings, right? A few popular series tried to bring this idea to fruition.

  • A show like "Prison Break"
  • And a popular show, "Dexter,"

These tried to make those great reboots happen. Sadly they got some negative reviews. Even worse? Fans were not as satisfied.

Both series had issues when they tried to rewrite the storylines that had big shortcomings. The challenge with this, is trying to make sure you bring a compelling new storyline that gets audiences back into the action. But sometimes the ending is a great one!

You see, the sequel to "White Collar" has that awesome aspect going for it as well as those fresh story lines! So with the show coming back to fans. What was once something audiences couldn't wait to get back into, is back, so get ready to take it back in with some more!

Is it Risky?

Fans might think that if "White Collar" ended with a solid end why mess with perfection? It makes a great deal of sense. This means the characters in the sequel, and fans have a great deal to look forward to with the return of "White Collar" but that can mean, those familiar characters need an all new set of ending.

It looks like the show writers will need to really up the ante. For sure they will be working to make sure this really pays off.

Can White Collar Get This Right?

"Dexter" and "Prison Break" show the world just how hard this really is to get right. We get those first episodes that help audiences understand the why. You see it at the beginning! The most amazing thing about both of those reboots. But then the magic kinda faded, so this is an interesting dilemma.

What the sequel will do? There's an idea that there has to be something driving it. What fans of "White Collar" want? Is the original series. So this has a real shot of working as long as the sequel has something special! What they're missing might be that they need to give audiences a different kind of magic to make it truly an exciting return!

With "White Collar" making a comeback, they may find that if they give audiences an exciting adventure, it could have a really awesome impact. For a series with such an amazing fan base. There will be so much interest to see this really come to life!
