When George passed away in Young Sheldon season 7, the show highlighted how much of an impact he had on his community, so we saw lots of his colleagues and even those close to the Coopers show up to his funeral. But one family we'd expect to be there just wasn't, making one of Young Sheldon's biggest mysteries even more frustrating. It makes us think 'Wait a second, why wasn't that family there? And how did their story get completely dropped?!'

Who Is This Mysterious Family?

They're the Paige family! She's Sheldon's super smart friend. The two are actually pretty close in those earlier seasons and even hang out together, which was so cool for viewers! It even went against what we knew about Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, where he seemed so different! Paige made it clear that Sheldon was a part of something else - a kind of "genius gang." This is part of the whole reason fans were totally wondering about what happened with her in Young Sheldon!

Was Paige Just Supposed To Disappear?

It’s a total let down! We get it. She was just a small part of the original show. It’s hard to connect what we see in Young Sheldon with The Big Bang Theory, sometimes - there's just so much story there!
There were hints of this problem all over those later seasons! Paige was going through it, being super smart in a small town. You could even say her arc wrapped up when she and Missy ran away in Young Sheldon season 6 - and the family did get in touch with the Coopers, so we'd assume they would want to honor George!
If those producers really wanted to tie things together we’d see them at the funeral! We didn't get to see their interactions, which was pretty frustrating! They just had some major stuff going on with those genius kids, too! The fact that the family isn't there was really just another example of the creators skipping out on so many details!

What Happened to Paige?

It’s all down to a few details: Young Sheldon is trying to keep things as they were in the original series but they didn't do a good job of wrapping up the characters!
She disappeared! Paige is gone. That’s a bit sad since we really enjoyed her story, especially how she was super similar to Sheldon.

We know that Young Sheldon season 7 wrapped up, so there is no longer any hope of the Paige story continuing on! Sadly, the absence of those crucial scenes with the Paige family at George's funeral is a missed opportunity to continue the story. It’s super frustrating to watch them disappear without even acknowledging the things we were learning about Sheldon!

It seems that The Big Bang Theory spin-off doesn't always connect with the original series the way fans might have expected! It looks like Young Sheldon is only a small part of a larger puzzle that will leave so many things up in the air - which can be frustrating!
