They call themselves L’Union and were excited to see him! However, in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, season 2, that feeling of goodwill may be a facade! This show had the chance to have its audience shocked. They even decided to go so far as to betray him! It makes audiences wonder- was it the right thing to do?

Fans will remember that Daryl set off on his journey with the aim of getting to his homeland- The United States, but he ended up making amazing friendships with Laurent, Isabelle, and some more!

Even with these odds stacked against him! There was still an air of optimism in season 1. There seemed to be a clear, happy moment as Daryl Dixon helped to move Laurent to L’Union’s “Nest”! What could go wrong?

Season 2 started in a whole new, thrilling direction when it appears that these friendly folks turned their backs on him. A shocking Betrayal from people who had every reason to help him!

L’Union wanted to see Daryl Dixon gone for a few reasons and had an interesting scheme that brought a unique moment to this series. It’s clear they did have good intentions. The plan involved tricking him into getting a special request and a mission to help them, bringing out those talents to bring back a precious, important member of their group: Laurent.

This plan seems all too real, however. They did not tell him it would be his last rescue!

Losing Hope:

L’Union believes that Laurent is truly a magical boy. He’s got a very special origin. This really made Laurent someone that had to live a remarkable, magical life. That was truly how L’Union saw him, a beacon of hope in this post-apocalyptic world!

As his special status became apparent fans would see L’Union’s true intentions were laid out as they put Laurent into a protected place - their Nest, where he could come to understand just who he really was, but after some time, it became clear Laurent wasn’t special in the eyes of their community.

You see, even those who joined to live a unique way. Many members who thought they would see signs of magic. They were let down, bringing a lack of enthusiasm as Laurent seemed like any other kid, that brought tension.

Why They Feared Daryl Dixon

L’Union may have had some truly complex thoughts and this is really at the root of this horrific plan they set into action!

One key element is the feeling of discontent among the community.
"L’Union thought that Daryl Dixon, with his way of living was causing some negativity around Laurent!

And this created their reason for having a big, drastic moment.

"L’Union" took a big risk, however! They had to have some major event to give these followers some reason to believe! They had a grand plan.

This included getting Daryl Dixon involved.

They knew that they couldn't talk him out of doing it.
They decided to go against him! They needed him to be taken down, or else their world might crumble.
This involved making sure Laurent was abducted so they would send Daryl Dixon to go save him.
What made it a big shock? This was never in Daryl Dixon 's nature and they needed him to disappear from their lives as their fears of Laurent escaping their "Nest" with the Daryl Dixon.

What The Union Was Really Planning

Even though, L’Union is truly the villain of this piece of the story, fans might be surprised to discover there may be a side of this community. This group had real intentions.

This really went south for Daryl Dixon.

L’Union hoped that they could get him to stay with their community, however that didn’t go so well, leaving the team without any options but to eliminate him.
As they looked to set a trap that made it so Daryl Dixon would be gone.
"L’Union came to a decision!

Their team got together and came to an agreement to have this huge and unexpected action to remove Daryl Dixon! The group knew that it wasn't going to be an easy plan! They were prepared for a fight that came when they found him. This was when Daryl discovered that they were not the ones who took Laurent. There was some strong resistance with a little help from the remarkable Isabelle and Fallou. Even if the group’s leader made it seem as if he was oblivious, this was a true betrayal!

Plans For The Future:

It appears the end for Daryl Dixon in France, will continue to be a big mystery as the show's trajectory goes to new places. It seems these two groups are destined to fight in season 2 and this battle might even bring in his sister Carol.

Daryl Dixon, it turns out, has the backing of an amazing crew.

Who's got more plans than just a new place for Laurent?

L’Union doesn't want to give up on their efforts to get what they truly desire! This includes a plan to have Laurent infected by a walker so that they could confirm what everyone else has doubted.
