The The Rings of Power has started the second season! Isildur’s journey through the Second Age will provide an eerie reminder of the Dead Marshes that audiences will later experience in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
The Rings of Power season 2 is packed with references to Lord of the Rings lore, especially the Second Age. As viewers watched Isildur make his way to Pelargir in The Rings of Power season 2, there was also a very familiar moment! Isildur is at a spot where the Dead Marshes are going to be after The Battle of Dagorlad.
In an amazing twist that connects to Tolkien's universe, we see Isildur coming into contact with the terrifying spider, Shelob. Then later in the episode, we see the area of water where Isildur gets a drink! This mirrors the Dead Marshes scene in the film! These details give an idea of the world that is unfolding.
Isildur will be instrumental in the events that lead to the rise of Sauron in the Third Age. Although he managed to defeat Sauron in the Second Age, his refusal to destroy The One Ring led to Sauron's re-emergence in the Third Age. The One Ring is a massive element in the Lord of the Rings universe!
It will take viewers through some familiar events and locations from the Second Age. It begins right after the Southlands (which will eventually become Mordor) are destroyed by Dark Lord Sauron in The Rings of Power season 1! Audiences should get ready for amazing adventures in Middle-earth and the journey that Isildur will face! You will even find incredible The Rings of Power season 2 Easter eggs!
It's now airing! Make sure to follow Prime Video for release information for each episode. Or, if you want to start watching from the very beginning, The Rings of Power season 1 is now available for streaming on Prime Video! The journey from the Second Age will help paint a clear picture of how it all comes together in the The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.
