How Can The Conners Season 7 Even Be Worse Than "Roseambo"?
We all loved "Roseanne," back in the day! The story of this hilarious working-class family - the Conner's. Even the Roseanne revival got off to a good start, until a whole mess of things went down with the star of the show, Roseanne Barr.
And it looks like the show might not be able to end in an epic way - like how a lot of sitcoms have done. But guess what? We don't have to worry - even if "The Conners Season 7" doesn't have the most perfect finish - it still won't be as bad as the infamous episode of "Roseanne," which made everyone hate Season 9 of that show.
Is That "Roseambo" Episode That Bad?
- Oh yeah, you better believe it! In "Roseambo," the show is about a family dealing with everyday life but it suddenly takes a huge turn. The whole thing turns super over-the-top with Roseanne dressing up like Rambo and saving Hillary Clinton from bad guys on a train! What the heck? It sounds really ridiculous! And the plot for the episode, too, is pretty similar to a movie, "Under Siege 2"!
- And it was so strange that the movie’s star Steven Seagal actually ended up on the show.
- So we've got an action-movie that is just super silly. It almost makes you think it was a sketch from "MadTV," not something for a show with Roseanne and that awesome, blue-collar family. It went really against the whole vibe of what people loved. And that's why "Roseambo" is just super awful.
Wait, What Happened to the Roseanne Revival?
It started strong! It felt a lot like the original show "Roseanne" - except they were trying to deal with the 2010's version of the Roseanne family - and Roseanne's relationship with those she loves. The problem is that it ended up being a huge flop.
- Barr - well, the actress who played Roseanne - she said some things that weren't okay to say.
- They basically kicked Barr off the show and the character of Roseanne gets killed off.
- So we get a brand-new show called "The Conners." And they try to show how Roseanne's family is dealing with the loss.
What Did Roseanne Barr Do To Ruin "Season 9"?
Think back to how Roseanne and Dan, those main characters on the show, got super rich from winning money. That made it kind of hard to watch, and those "Roseanne" episodes became a lot less relatable! The best parts were how Roseanne kept everything grounded but suddenly we saw those big crazy dream sequences and all that "Roseanne" stuff was like it was from "Married with Children"!
"Roseambo" actually really put the nail in the coffin! The humor wasn't real. We missed that super lovable, realistic story about the family and those working-class roots!
It is actually kind of crazy how a show's ending can make it hard to even enjoy all of the "Roseanne" stuff! It might not be as wild as Season 9, but let's hope that The Conners Season 7 does something to end the series better.
