The Boys Quietly Introduces its Version of Robin
If you're a fan of The Boys, you know that one of the things that makes the show so great is its ability to take classic superhero characters and put a dark and twisted spin on them. We've seen this with Homelander, the show's take on Superman, and Termite, the shrinking supe who accidentally explodes someone from the inside. The Boys season 4 continues this trend by introducing its own version of Robin, Batman's trusty sidekick.
In season 4, episode 6, we meet Laddio, Tek Knight's sidekick. He's a parody of Robin, complete with a red suit, and he's actually one of the few Supes who is willing to help The Boys. Laddio helps them expose Tek Knight's corruption, and he even helps them dispose of his body. It's a pretty brutal ending for Tek Knight, especially considering that he's taken down by pastiches of Alfred and Robin.
The Boys' version of Laddio is a bit different from the original comic book version. In the comics, Laddio is a bit more sexually suggestive, and he's shown to be cruel and bigoted. However, in the show, Laddio seems to be a more likable character. He's also a little more mysterious, as he's masked throughout the episode. This makes it possible for Laddio to return in future episodes, perhaps as a hero.
If you're a fan of The Boys, then you're going to want to keep an eye out for Laddio. He might just be the next big thing in the show's world.
