The Acolyte Episode 7: Torbin's Motivation Makes No Sense!

One major flaw I cannot get over in the Acolyte Episode 7

The Acolyte episode seven explored the Star Wars show's secrets closely. It proved Mae was innocent of killing the Brendok witches, so clearing the actual events on Brendok. Regretfully, the episode proved the Jedi carried out a horrible crime. Sol took particular responsibility since he killed Mother Aniseya in front of Mae. Of the four Jedi stationed on Brendok at the time—Indara, Kelnacca, Torbin, and Sol—all four were guilty in some capacity. Though she was acting in what she believed to be right, Master Indara cleared the coven. The Acolyte episode 7's Torbin's plot was a main flaw in the show.

Motives of Torbin Made No Sense

Introduced in The Acolyte as the enigmatic Jedi who felt so ashamed about what happened on Brendok that he was ready to take poison instead of confession, Torbin was In episodes three and seven he was simply a Padawan. This made him restless and impatient, but Torbin's motives in episode 7 seemed illogical. By the end of the episode, Torbin is in charge of the deaths of the Brendok witches; indeed, Sol killed Mother Aniseya and Master Indara killed numerous witches, but Torbin guided them there.

Torbin did this for weak reasons. Enough to drive him to be ready to breach a coven's stronghold to prove that their children, Osha and Mae, were a vergence in the Force, he was consumed with the idea of returning home to Coruscant. This felt insufficient as the justification.

Still Not Enough Looking Like Anakin Skywalker

Given Torbin's resemblance to Anakin Skywalker, the authors most likely felt this weak storyline would be appropriate. Their curls were dirty blond or light brown. Visual links have long been used in Star Wars to gently underline a point of interest. This is why the youngling asking Anakin what they are going to do during Order 66 in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith looks so much like young Anakin.

Not enough to explain Torbin's actions was looking somewhat like Anakin, who was infamous for being impulsive, impatient, and a bit whiny. Anakin earned his impatience over several films. Torbin's character lacked development sufficient to make this work. Sadly, the drive of fervent desire to return to Coruscant was insufficient to convince anyone that Torbin would dash into the house of the witches of Brendok. It compromised the seventh episode of The Acolyte for the worst.
