If you enjoy Star Trek: Prodigy, you most likely wonder what transpired following Paramount+'s cancellation of the show. Many were somewhat surprised when Paramount+ said it would be cutting the show off its streaming platform, but Prodigy seems to have a new home on Netflix.
Netflix is currently showing both Star Trek: Prodigy's seasons. Positive reviews for both seasons have come in; it appears that viewers are loving the show. Though Paramount+ canceled the show, Netflix now has the choice to order season 3 of Star Trek: Prodigy; we all hope they do!
Sadly, Paramount+ has been altering its streaming service, deleting shows and off-boarding them from its platform. Along with Prodigy, they pulled off other hit shows including Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, The Game, and Queen of the Universe. Many think these cancellements were done to save money and help the company's general financial situation to be better.
Many thanks goes to the viewers for enabling Star Trek: Prodigy to be saved. To show their support of the show, they set up a GoFundMe campaign and even flew a plane over the Netflix headquarters. Even Kate Mulgrew, who stars Admiral Janeway on the show, was taken under notice by supporters. She went on social media urging viewers of the show on Netflix.
Although Netflix's second Star Trek: Prodigy season seems to have a decent ending, more is yet possible. Fans hope Netflix will approve a season 3; the creators have some ideas for next adventures! The performance of the show on Netflix will determine whether or not season 3 occurs as well as whether Netflix chooses to retain Prodigy on its library.
For Star Trek: Prodigy, we will have to wait to find out what the future presents. Right now you can binge both seasons on Netflix. We can all cross our fingers to let Netflix know this show has value and choose to provide the young USS Protostar crew more adventures!
