These amazing series followed the story of the great Admiral Jean-Luc Picard played by Patrick Stewart. Hugh and His Story in Star Trek: Picard
Star Trek: Picard is not a rehash of the same thing. Even though it gave a nod to previous episodes, with familiar characters it set itself apart by adding a touch of complexity. One of these is Hugh. Who is a really compelling figure in Star Trek as well as this series! Played by the wonderful Jonathan Del Arco. Hugh played a very specific role! The Borg have a pretty fascinating place in Star Trek and it’s fascinating to learn what happened with Hugh after those earlier stories!
- We're taken back to Star Trek: The Next Generation when we first see Hugh, a Borg who's separated from the Collective. It's one of the most heartfelt stories that got fans really thinking about who The Borg really are and what happens with these individuals.
- That journey led to the character appearing in Star Trek: Picard season 1! You can see Hugh, who had this really emotional story.
When Star Trek: Picard had Hugh involved! You knew this would make the story interesting and make those iconic characters show up, including Picard as well. The show had this really heart-wrenching, heartwarming story! The "Artifact," is truly important, as the place where it all unfolded.
In one memorable moment, Hugh did something he wasn't told to do. The creators shared an important insight. He decided to give Picard a hug, a gesture to bring warmth to their heart. Picard is an incredible captain and so important to "Star Trek," and there are few people that could bring this comfort! There are not a lot of things that stand out more than the emotions behind "The Borg."
A Hug With a Deeper Meaning:
Why did it matter so much for Hugh to give Picard a hug? Hugh had something special going on as it was a show of gratitude, because it took place in a space known to be full of fear! The story had this wonderful message.
This heartwarming moment wasn't in the script, but was so important to both characters.
Del Arco, was able to have a conversation with Patrick Stewart, as they both agreed it was time to create a scene where these two heroes would hug! The director even agreed, crying over the touching, compelling and authentic moment, adding a special twist to their performance and one Star Trek fans have talked about ever since.
TNG Reunions In Star Trek: Picard:
You already have your favorite crew. When we got those big re-unions and more importantly the call backs. Fans are always looking for those epic moments of their favorite stories and it looked like this series wasn't going to disappoint.

It shows how truly dedicated this franchise has been to those who watch. The world of "Star Trek" gives you endless adventures to experience!
