Skeleton Crew: A New Chapter In Star Wars
The new Star Wars series on Disney+ is going to be full of adventure and mystery and, according to the trailer, maybe even some very special space wolves!
Okay, so hold on a second. The trailer for "Skeleton Crew" shows this alien who really does look like a space-faring Werewolf with claws, fur, and even blasters. The real-life story though, isn't about werewolves but, you guessed it, Shistavanens!
Shistavanen, That's Not a Werewolf (But It's Pretty Close!)
Now, these "Shistavanen" have been in the Star Wars universe for a while, but not for very long, like only seconds! Back when "Star Wars", now called "A New Hope", first came out, there was this super short scene in the Mos Eisley Cantina. We see this awesome alien for like, two seconds! You could be forgiven for forgetting, as most Star Wars fans don’t recall, or just don't know, that they’re from Star Wars, because that scene got edited out in the later re-releases of Star Wars with a more detailed CGI alien instead. But now, "Skeleton Crew" has resurrected them from the archives!
We haven't seen Shistavanens since then. The thing is that even though they have this really striking, Werewolf-style look – think furry and humanoid – the story behind those space wolves is actually connected to the original Star Wars lore in a fascinating way. These Aliens are part of Star Wars lore, which kind of puts “Skeleton Crew” on an epic trajectory!
Star Wars: Where’s the Space Werewolf Lore, Yo?
Imagine a story called "Blood Moon" in the Star Wars universe that has a lot to do with a cracked kyber crystal radiating dark side energy – now that's a cool sci-fi mystery! Apparently, that kind of space radiation can transform some creatures into werewolves (at least the lore says it can!), especially creatures with feral features, such as those Shistavanens! If this really is true, that could have an incredible impact on the plot for Skeleton Crew. What if this space-wolf alien has something to do with dark side energy in the Star Wars Universe? The Trailer, of course, doesn't give us much to work with.
This could open up a lot of fascinating twists and turns for “Skeleton Crew." It's almost like that whole werewolves and dark side connection just got even more complex. Imagine all these awesome possibilities! Maybe the werewolf from the Trailer is the product of that super-charged space moon and its radiation – think about all that extra, cool backstory!
Skeleton Crew: The Galaxy's New Hope
With these “space-wolf” Aliens in the background, we already have a bunch of new things to explore in “Skeleton Crew”, and those Shistavanens are like an exciting Easter Egg hidden inside. They have such a big history, even though not much is really known. And if the creators are bringing these guys back, I think it will totally add a sense of "we know the lore of the galaxy, and we are paying attention"! That kind of commitment will certainly catch people’s attention!
I’m a little sad we can’t see that whole Shistavanen scene until we actually see the "Skeleton Crew" series drop on Disney+, but they look to be so intriguing and mysterious that I am hoping this means more wild surprises! Remember, “Skeleton Crew" will have a great set-up as we get to know these kids – but that space werewolf scene was the only action for us to see so far.
Skeleton Crew: A Deep Dive into Star Wars Lore
Remember all those movies where it's a galaxy – filled with Jedi and Sith and rebels and… wait for it – some really cool alien life! The "Skeleton Crew" trailer reminded us just how vast and incredible this galaxy is. We’ve been learning a whole lot more about the world beyond “Star Wars”, “The Mandalorian", and other awesome series.
The new "Skeleton Crew" series seems to be taking those Star Wars traditions, like that awesome lore from Legends (all those amazing books, comics, and stories!), and giving those classic stories a brand-new perspective. Maybe with some super cool werewolf action to boot? It will be pretty rad! Remember "The Mandalorian" took us to a few unexpected locations and “Skeleton Crew" promises even more!
Star Wars: Werewolves, Space Creatures, and A Bunch of Cool Stories
I don’t want to say too much because the mystery will be super rewarding once "Skeleton Crew" actually drops on Disney+ and we get to see all these weird aliens doing cool things.
For right now, the Shistavanen scene, even if it is only a few seconds in the trailer, has really gotten my Star Wars brain buzzing. These are going to be awesome characters! Maybe they’re part of this Jedi Temple adventure or maybe they're out to stop those kids in their tracks. And remember that whole Dark side energy thing I was talking about? I am pretty sure this has a lot of potentials for more exciting twists to come. We will have to wait until “Skeleton Crew” airs for all those answers!
