Get ready to dive back into Silo and uncover the mysteries that remain. For anyone who loved Silo, the first season on Apple TV+, was packed with mystery, intrigue, and the dystopian drama of how a society is able to live in a silo beneath the earth! This awesome show brought to life the novel by Hugh Howey. The series itself was one of those great additions that fans really seemed to embrace. But a recent twist in the series. There's been some discussion around its creative liberties!
What the First Season Did:
It's important for any show to stay as true as it can, especially with the original source material and it seems that "Silo" kept a lot of the same moments and elements from the books. While they added to the stories a few special changes to add that television-worthy touch.
One of these things occurred to the lead character in Silo. The one we were all excited to learn about in the first season is Juliette, played by Rebecca Ferguson, but the way she was introduced to viewers was quite different than what you might have read!
Changing Up The Relationship With Bernard:
If you've watched the "Silo" show, you will probably be a bit confused, but in the books Bernard, a figure played by David Oyelowo is truly evil. But, in the series he has more of a grey character. What we get as an audience, is he isn't all bad, or all good and might have some real intrigue that fans of "Silo" won't be able to get out of their heads.
You know, this all goes back to "Hugh Howey's" incredible books.
- Bernard truly puts his trust in another character called Lukas! And as it appears. He even decides that Lukas will become his shadow.
- He goes on to train Lukas! Lukas becomes super trusted.
- He shows Lukas everything in his world, how Silo works and what it means to be part of this culture!
That may seem a bit strange as we're talking about a villain but what comes out in this case! The Silo is based on a series of novels that we're only starting to experience as fans. There is much more to learn. What seems to be happening is, Bernard truly believes that Lukas is ready to step into a higher role and become a truly valued part of the silo world.
What Does This Mean For The Future:
While "Silo" looks like it will go beyond Hugh Howey's books.
Fans are definitely hoping the series continues to make new chapters for viewers. In the novel Wool. That's when this crazy relationship of betrayal was set in motion, with Juliette reaching out to Lukas, sharing her secrets.
- Lukas shares a deep bond, and ends up revealing the secrets to Juliette.
- Juliette, using this intelligence was able to put together an effort to revolt against the silo world, giving a new power to all the silo residents, to reclaim what was lost to them.
What will become of Juliette's fate in "Silo,".?
The Impact on Season 2:
For "Silo," IT looks like a major overhaul might be in order!
Since Lukas, is at the end of season 1 working in the mines because Bernard doesn't have any trust left, Lukas' relationship will probably take on a whole different dimension and even with the new relationship with Juliette! This was never something that took place in the books and these are big alterations.
A New Character
So what comes up, next. Silo has some cool ideas for what to do. As it seems that another character may be taking Lukas's place in season 2. Robert Sims.
In the show Robert Sims is Bernard's main go-to guy.
What made him interesting is he seemed loyal, however at the end Sims decided he wasn't happy with the rules of the Silo. And began questioning Bernard's ways and if he was really a man of his word!
It is an interesting new path as Sims, looks like he may get a chance to replace Lukas. There's this great possiblity that the writers can really expand on this amazing relationship of friendship! That will also have Sims as one of Bernard's most trusted confidants and maybe be his next successor!
Fans of "Silo" have seen the power of Betrayal.
As a real clue as to the potential future. The writers did an incredible job of not creating a romantic story between "Sims" and "Juliette." But with this in mind, they could add an entirely new dynamic!
It's a great setup that may see Sims become "Juliette's" main contact in the Silo.
In the coming seasons. We'll definitely have a story full of great tension and suspense as the next chapters unfold.
Fans are already so intrigued and there will probably be a lot of theories that get tossed out before these big moments that will surely shake the "Silo."
But make sure to check it out if you haven't. Silo really hits the right notes! It is the perfect story to explore! One that seems to deliver a Dystopian story that gives viewers something that really reminds us about what could happen, as well as keep fans on edge for years to come.
