SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 2: What We Learned & What's Next

SEAL Team Season 7 Episode 2: What We Learned

The action was back with a bang for Seal Team fans! Season 7 has taken off at breakneck speed, diving right back into the intense action we all know and love, as Jason Hayes and Bravo Team face a real life, heart-pounding terrorist threat.

After a thrilling premiere, episode 2 threw the team straight into another dangerous scenario - tackling an active shooter situation at a shopping mall. Seal Team never shies away from those serious issues, and Episode 2 gave us a realistic and chilling glimpse of the struggles these elite operators face. In this action-packed installment, they faced a challenge more dangerous than usual – trying to neutralize a terrorist threat with no weapons. While Bravo 1 eventually won, it was definitely a heartbreaking win.

Jason's Trauma Resurfaces After That Intense Swedish Mall Shootout

We saw Jason Hayes go through it in Sweden, a flashback of that painful memory! His TBI hasn't healed, not fully. It's just been lurking under the surface until it bursts back to the forefront, and what Jason endured in that Swedish mall attack totally pulled it out. While facing down the terrorist in a really intense hand-to-hand combat scene, Jason found himself back in that traumatic place.

While he fought like the best operator around, he was struggling afterward, clearly struggling with that moment where he used deadly force to end the attacker’s life. Seeing the dude bleeding out? Well, that'll really make anyone feel uneasy, especially someone with Jason's past. What’s gonna happen to him? This was definitely a defining moment that could potentially be one of those major things in the rest of Season 7, and you can see the way he struggles.

The SEALs Get Hit with the "Sidelined" Side Effects of War

This entire season looks like it's gonna revolve around the repercussions of war - not just the fighting part, but the long-term fallout for the people fighting. It’s not all "kaboom, blow up some bad guys and high-five your buddy”.

Jason and the guys went to Sweden, saved the day, and came back to the States, only to find their superiors really not impressed. Their commander? Basically, their new boss is saying: "You guys did a great job. Now, sit back and relax for a while; you've been running around a bit too much.” Which is kind of frustrating. Their efforts don’t get the accolades and rewards you would imagine, and Jason is feeling that uncomfortable tension. It looks like Jason Hayes isn't getting the time and space to address his mental health problems that this recent event has revealed, making us even more anxious about the path for Season 7. It might be a rollercoaster!

Sonny's New Crisis and a Touch of Family Drama

What a season, right? If Jason wasn't already dealing with those intense feelings from the mission, Sonny has another huge mess he needs to deal with. Now, remember, Sonny Quinn wasn't a fan of Colonel Decker, their Commander. Sonny was seriously hurt by that mission in Mali (where they were sent in a kinda bogus way that went downhill) which Decker was partially responsible for.

So, guess what Sonny did to his old commander? That’s right, Sonny beat up Colonel Decker after finding out the guy was responsible. That could cause some trouble - especially with Decker's big promotion! So, they've gotta find ways to keep this whole fight a secret, which is probably going to cause even more mayhem in future episodes, making the whole situation pretty high stakes!

Drew’s Big Reveal

This is Season 7 - a new season and new changes - and even Drew Franklin got a shakeup with a twist in the plot. Drew, the quiet and deadly dude in Bravo, isn't exactly a "tell all your secrets" kinda guy, so that’s where this latest season turns into a suspense thriller!

In this episode, his past gets unearthed with the appearance of his sister, Nora. She is kinda the opposite of the laid-back Drew and looks like she has a lot of information she's about to release, even a few threats about things that could get messy, for Drew. We might find out what Drew's hiding – maybe a little too late to help him avoid an onslaught of “family issues.” This plot twist definitely suggests things are going to get even more wild in the final episodes.

More Action on the Way!

Let’s not forget that this is the final season for SEAL Team. What's the last stretch going to bring? Even if you already saw some of those hints of how those characters’ lives could get even more chaotic, there's bound to be twists and turns, because, in SEAL Team, you just never know.

If you're craving more intense action scenes, jaw-dropping thrills, and even more drama, tune in for those new episodes! SEAL Team is ready to take you on another mission through these unpredictable challenges for your favorite characters. Make sure you have a comfy chair, lots of popcorn, and your adrenaline ready for the remaining SEAL Team episodes in Season 7.
