Sam Heughan a celebrated Scottish actor best known for his leading role on the popular series "Outlander" has recently caught media attention after the series finished filming it's final season. With recent TV appearences his upcoming work has become more of a focus of conversation.
Heughan played a pivotal character in Outlander , for a total of eleven years and one hundred episodes with all his work on the set of Outlander ending when filming of the series finale was complete. He mentions many good bonds made over his time working on the series with an overwhelming sense of appreciation for the experience. He even described his relationships with the cast and crew as one of a large family.
With production ending he humorously mentioned having his eye on several props, most notably his character’s kilt and jerkin. These items were later gifted to him by the show’s production company who had guessed he would have attempted to remove them upon leaving for the final time.
Despite failing at "stealing" his clothing for the show production had pre-planned to allow him to keep several things. This included his kilt, the jerkin, the boots and most humorously his signature "ginger wig" which allowed a side of his fun-loving personality shine.
He stated, that the now kept, items will allow him to visit his former character by keeping his old outfits. This serves as not just an item, but it also signifies a great memory he created and is a personal connection to the role he devoted much time to.
The universe of "Outlander" will continue as it now expands to feature “Outlander: Blood of My Blood”, which will highlight both Jamie Fraser and Claire’s parents stories of love, which also has a scheduled summer release date .
This new series will showcase Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser who are Jamie’s parents and Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp who are Claire’s parents. This new development brings the story to past generations with unique plots set in two very different locations.
"Blood of My Blood" shows two different love stories that will merge together between both the First World War and 18th century Scottish Highlands. A combination of rising actors with experience is the core makeup. This is meant to be a complex and nuanced approach with stories about defying all odds.
The series cast includes several notable actors: Jeremy Irvine, Jamie Roy, Hermione Corfield and Harriet Slater. The new series still utilizes former talent from Outlander but also many others from different movie and tv platforms who help give these new stories life while also respecting what has already been established.
