Resident Alien Showrunner Teases That Season 4 Could Be Another Murder Mystery
Resident Alien Season 4 is moving to USA Network, and the show's creator has hinted that it might be similar to season 1. Resident Alien didn't have to wait very long to be renewed, but the rumors about its cancellation made the delay seem much longer. The Resident Alien cast is back for more, and the story could return to a style that fans loved.
Resident Alien season 3's ending had a few cliffhangers that need to be resolved in the next season. A new character appeared who is a threat to both Harry Vanderspeigle and the residents of Patience, Colorado. This means that a couple of characters will have even bigger roles in the next season.
Mike & Liv could be called into action again
The Mantid is the new villain in Resident Alien Season 4, and the Greys are still lurking around in their moonbase. The show's creator spoke with TV Line and said that the Mantid has already killed and eaten innocent people. When talking about the potential structure of Resident Alien season 4, Chris Sheridan said, "It's been a while since Sheriff Mike and Depuity Liv had to solve a murder, so maybe it's the right time."
While the big threats aren't going away anytime soon, the fact that Resident Alien is returning to its original storytelling style is an exciting idea. This will also mean that Mike and Liv will have bigger roles. Their dynamic has gotten better since their last Murder Mystery.
Resident Alien Season 4's Murder Mystery Story Would Be Different To Season 1's
In Resident Alien season 1, viewers had to wait and see who killed Sam Hodges. In Resident Alien season 4, it's pretty clear that the Mantid is the killer. Plus, his shapeshifting abilities make him even more dangerous. This time around, the audience might have an advantage over Mike, Liv and the other characters.
Harry Vanderspeigle will be in a different position this time around. If he and Bridget can escape their prison on the Grey's moonbase, he won't be the villain. In Resident Alien season 1, Harry's goal was to destroy Earth. But since then, he has come to love his new home and even risked his life to save his friends. So, Harry will get to be on the heroes' side in a Murder Mystery this time.
Sheriff Mike's Season 3 Revelation Opens Up The Investigation Massively
Resident Alien was good at slowly introducing its characters to the idea of alien life. At the end of season 3, Sheriff Mike was the last main character who didn't believe in aliens. But that all changes when he finds the body of a dead Grey Alien. Before this, Mike would have said that a shapeshifting insect wasn't really eating people in Patience. Now, he has to believe in aliens and join the investigation.
Mike is a stubborn guy, so it might take a while for him to accept what he saw in the season 3 finale. But once he does, all the characters can work together to find the Mantid and stop it. Even if Harry comes back and fights the Mantid, the villain could escape and take someone else's form. In that case, Mike and the other heroes in Resident Alien might have to start all over again.
