So, you've probably heard about Ortolans - and are ready to dive into the Star Wars franchise! You might recognize them as those blue creatures, right? We’ve seen some, like those in the "Return of the Jedi" movie!
It looks like they will be appearing in the upcoming "Star Wars Skeleton Crew"! That’s right - this show’s gonna bring Ortolans back to life! It's been a while since we've seen them. And since everyone's totally obsessed with this "Star Wars TV Show" – it’s kinda a big deal.
Well, everyone remembers Max Rebo - you know the super talented, elephant-like creature with that amazing band in "Return of the Jedi? This guy was a big deal. He made all kinds of awesome Ortolan music that was even part of The Book of Boba Fett! If you remember, that band played for Jabba the Hutt, but then it's all kinda messed up when a poor alien girl got dropped into that rancor pit, because her dancing made Jabba really mad!
Well, guess what! This new show, "Skeleton Crew" - might just have an Ortolan! Maybe the little, elephant-looking creature you saw in the trailer - his name’s Neel. If that’s true, it’s the first time that an Ortolan is actually in a main character role! Talk about making an appearance! It's way exciting because it's always super cool when Star Wars puts non-human species into a spotlight, so Neel is a big deal!
Ortolan creatures hail from a planet called Orto! I know that this planet’s super frigid – think lots of ice and snow - which explains why these guys are so chubby.
The awesome thing about the Ortolan species? They are super skilled! You’ve probably already guessed what their key ability is: they can make crazy cool music! There is something really magical to how these creatures can make those unique sounds - they are kinda like the Star Wars equivalent of being a musical prodigy.
It sounds like the creators of "Star Wars Skeleton Crew" are ready to shake things up! It looks like it’s gonna be a totally amazing and innovative new series that’s gonna be different from all those big movies we’ve seen. Who's excited!
