And after an amazing build-up– plenty of thrilling episodes– those lingering unanswered questions begin to reveal their ultimate answers in this very final, climactic reveal: It has already confirmed (episode 9, “Escape from Planet Klongo”) that the one who shot Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) was Marshall P. Pope (Jin Ha), but who is this new killer exactly? Was Sazz even the intended target of this highly-skilled hitman and are those questions fully answered in this impending finale? Get ready for the last thrilling chapter, we're here to uncover everything surrounding those remaining points, including that release date, time and that star-studded cast. The finale’s going to blow your mind.
Mark your calendars, folks! The Only Murders in the Building Season 4 finale arrives Tuesday, October 29th. Hulu hasn't confirmed the exact time yet. But typically those shows drop around 3:00 a.m. E.T./12:00 a.m. P.T! And yes, this can only be found on Hulu. You can stream all prior Only Murders in the Building seasons there, too. You'll need a subscription (options from $7.99/month to $89.99/month), but there’s also a free trial.
This is a stellar cast! Get ready! We’ll see our awesome trio – Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez – and the brilliant returning Jane Lynch, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Ryan Broussard; showing all the recurring characters that audiences know and love have once again significant plots involved.
The great thing is, Season 4 brings massive talent like: Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, Michael Cyril Creighton, Cara Delevingne, Amy Ryan, Jackie Hoffman, Jason Veasey, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, Melissa McCarthy, Richard Kind, Kumail Nanjiani, Molly Shannon, and Griffin Dunne. That’s seriously a lot of big names, folks! That is impressive.
Marshall Pope, introduced as the movie's screenwriter (episode 5), has had a lot of questions posed about his identity, yet this episode brings plenty of clarity in many important aspects. A notable voiceover introduces Marshall, raising immediate questions yet not arousing suspicion initially because that device has always been utilized by the Only Murders in the Building team to create intrigue. This subtle approach is a significant stylistic choice for this team and it completely impacts this new storyline.
Episode 9 paints this whole scenario. Helga (a Westie) revealed that Sazz mentioned being killed by a stuntman in "Project Ronkonkoma"—who also turns out to be Sazz’s protégé, creating several intriguing elements which completely connect the initial storylines in Season 4, making it much easier to fully understand the plot and reasons given in episode 9. The duo tries to connect with Ron Howard, obtaining more information concerning that incident. That stuntman gets caught out after his footprints matching the crime scene are compared with those shoes worn by Ron Howard. Finally they show a photo to Charles and Oliver– it was Rex Bailey – and yes, that's Marshall.
Typically, Only Murders in the Building reveals the killer in the finale episode. Yet episode 9 makes a crucial revelation which hints toward another killer: The fact that Marshall was directly connected and found to have Sazz’s phone for several key plot points indicates he’s deeply connected; although that could very possibly indicate another killer working with him, someone with an earlier axe to grind–possibly that other person who’s been targeting the main characters in past seasons; this is not certain and makes for an extremely interesting, unresolved point that could create huge developments later.
The initial reasons seem quite simple: Marshall’s original script brought him the job; however many other problematic story alterations meant more work; it all got a bit too chaotic which pushed Marshall into becoming more desperate and led him to seek out easier solutions! It even comes up as he's following Mabel. This reveals this new element: Marshall finds Sazz's script claiming it's hers! So there's his motive! To steal Sazz’s work. That’s clever writing that also generates some intrigue: Another person’s responsible for Glen's (Paul Rudd) death which leaves those previous seasons’ unanswered questions totally unanswered, this could imply even stronger tensions between the past events and these ongoing situations; that unresolved point might impact Season 5.
The intense on-screen romance between Oliver and Loretta (Martin Short and Meryl Streep) has even sparked serious real-life dating rumors. But are they merely close friends? These intense feelings shared between these two veteran actors really made for several amazingly funny yet equally heartwarming and sentimental moments throughout the season, despite being frequently challenged by the characters' very unpredictable lives! Short has explicitly denied this yet he maintains these frequent sightings with Streep, with plenty of photos and several events generating even more fuel toward these long-lingering rumors, all that evidence keeps that theory incredibly credible.
But whether you think they're secretly dating or are merely very good friends; it is easy to agree that this intense chemistry between these two talented stars added to Season 4; these moments are ones you wouldn’t be able to get without both being so extremely charming, endearing, and humorous, all at the same time, really providing some uniquely compelling elements in such an otherwise suspenseful series!
This Only Murders in the Building season is ending and has been really engaging and had several emotional, tense situations which created several intense dramatic events; not only has this been surprisingly well-written with those surprising comedic moments which further delighted viewers, it has maintained its core, endearing appeal as an extremely compelling and entertaining murder mystery! The ending has finally arrived and audiences should totally jump into Hulu on Tuesday, October 29th, to find out exactly what occurs! Those unresolved points; that shocking reveal in episode 9 and these long-awaited conclusions surrounding Sazz’s murder, make this ending totally worth seeing, and that incredible on-screen chemistry shared by Meryl Streep and Martin Short? You're going to enjoy this!
