Flanagan revealed that adapting The Dark Tower is seriously challenging. “These are the questions that keep me up at night,” he confessed. Yet, that doesn’t sound so disheartening! Rather, that makes for a positive assessment. This shows that there was still enormous passion. Although it was initially announced in 2022 with Flanagan onboard and many updates have completely dried up recently; with little progress shown publicly, the production has been confirmed to be still moving forward, even after having been stalled due to development difficulties. Talks are happening with Amazon Prime Video to secure that platform – which makes immense sense; after all, Amazon was behind the incredibly well-received Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, providing proof that big fantasy projects of that scale and production size would truly work on that streaming service. Even if those deals aren’t currently set yet; that kind of star-studded talent, the incredible pedigree, Flanagan's and King's names, make this almost certain to be picked up later by some network – an amazing piece of upcoming content eagerly anticipated for viewers and many, many fans! The cast is secret— fueling those speculation sites with plenty of fun rumors, folks. The latest whisper? Rahul Kohli, who might’ve played the role of Reed Richards. Even Flanagan retweeted a fan expressing this exact same idea: showing just how open he seems to the potential that a fancast actually would work! Other names include Carla Gugino and Henry Thomas. It’s unclear what parts however any of them might play – and Thomas is less likely to be cast for that critically important role of Roland.
