Loki's Unexpected Appearance
The newest Venom comic from Marvel Comics ends with an incredible reveal. Loki, in all his green and yellow glory, pops up at the very end of the comic, leaving fans everywhere wondering what's next! The issue itself is amazing, it builds an epic confrontation between Loki and "Old Man Venom." The talented writers, Torunn Grønbekk and the equally incredible artists, CAFU and Germán Peralta bring us a shocking confrontation!
Old Man Venom And His Predicament
Before Loki shows up, the storyline takes audiences through an exciting ride that introduces the iconic "Old Man Venom," This particular character is a future version of Dylan Brock (Eddie Brock's son), one who is up against all kinds of challenges and struggles. The whole arc features "Venom War" which will create a major change in the Marvel world's symbiotes! It really looks like something epic is on the horizon!
The character faces one intense moment where they have a very hard decision. Dylan gives up a significant part of himself! including friends, family, his own identity and loved ones, to survive the terrifying character known as Chthon.
Loki's Iconic Line
Loki makes a significant impact when he shows up!
In Venom #38's final pages Loki examines Dylan Brock. He doesn't really focus on their past memories, as all their memories of friends, family and love are completely gone! What Loki sees is their intense focus! And says an iconic line:
- "No name. No mother. No friends. Only a purpose. Glorious purpose."
That iconic line is a nod back to the 2012 Avengers film. There, Loki uses the term as he describes himself! This time however, Loki uses this phrase to describe Old Man Venom and creates an incredible moment!
Loki's Motivations
That's the big question everyone wants to know! The cliffhanger shows that he's an antagonistic force that wants to change things in a major way. If there's anything fans learned, it's that Loki will always be up to his own crazy schemes, especially given he’s appeared as a villain. The upcoming Venom #39 issue will reveal just why Loki chose to confront the symbiote hero.
Venom War And Time Travel
This whole story might change the entire course of the Marvel universe!
In Venom #38, there's plenty of time-travel that has everyone on the edge of their seats, making audiences wonder whether there are other connections with this crossover event with the MCU. The next TVA series is rumored to connect everything, which creates some speculation that this whole series may link more with other Marvel Comics titles.
Which Loki Is It?
What makes it so interesting? Is figuring out exactly which Loki has made an appearance! And will be part of Venom #39. As it's rumored Loki might be one of the many forms!
The "most evil" is how he is described, hinting that fans may just get something truly sinister that helps build out Venom!
Will this new appearance be the same kind of chaotic energy seen in the Avengers or be another side of this incredible villain that has made fans so invested in his saga?
The answers might come as a big shock when Venom #38 is released and may very well change how we perceive Loki in the entire Marvel Comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) history. There are some unique things and details that many fans may not even see. But those who read the latest release are likely in for something incredibly cool.
