Little Women: A Fantastic K-D Drama Worth Watching While We Wait For All Of Us Dead Season 2
All Of Us Are Dead season 2 will have a long wait, but another K-drama is a great replacement. Having last shown in January 2022, All of Us Are Dead won't be back until 2025. Featuring many young, up-and-coming stars, the All of Us Are Dead cast was one of the main selling features of season 1.
As Nam On-jo, a regular student attempting to survive a zombie invasion in her high school, Park Ji-hu has shown to be a remarkable lead. Park Ji-hu is a rising talent even if she is quite young and only has a few credits to her name yet. Most importantly, Park Ji-hu shows her adaptability in her co-starring part in Netflix's 2022 mystery series, Little Women, which is worth seeing in the wait for All Of Us Are Dead season 2.

Comprising twelve episodes, Little Women is a thriller set in contemporary South Korea. Three sisters—Oh In-joo (Kim Go-eun), Oh In-kyung (Nam Ji-hyun), and Oh In-hye (Park Ji-hu)—have central focus in the K-drama. Although the Oh sisters grew up in poverty, their lives change when one sister appears to inherit 70 billion won—almost $51 million USD. They soon find themselves entwined with a strong family connected to the fortune. Like Bong Joon-ho's Parasite, Netflix's Little Women looks at the wealth disparity in Korea and the effects families and individuals suffer in the heedless chase of money.
Park's In-hye, the youngest of the sisters in Little Women, is a smart but occasionally naive high school student with a great artistic ability. The strong Won family notices this ability, and their daughter Park Hyo-rin (Jeon Chae-eun) befriendes In-hye and pulls her farther into the web of the chaebol family.
How Little Women Measures Against Other Louisa May Alcott Book Adaptations
Numerous adaptations of Louisa May Alcott's 1868 coming-of-age book Little Women have included movies, TV shows, anime, theater plays, and musicals. Every adaptation has given the classic novel's themes and characters a unique spin; some are far more like the original source material than others. Like many film and TV adaptations of the book, which was set in Alcott's time and thus in the 1860s, Barbie writer-director Greta Gerwig received critical praise in 2019 with her rather accurate rendition of Little Women.
Still another beloved Little Women adaptation came out in 1994. Among the star-studded ensemble of Gillian Armstrong's film were Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, and Christian Bale. Like Gerwig's rendition, the 1994 film stayed near to the original material, was set in the 1860s, and was well-received both critically and with Oscars. Some contend that of the two, Gerwig's version of Little Women is superior. Still, both movies are much-loved and accurate to Alcott's original book.
The 2022 South Korean Little Women is not at all like these devoted period-set movies and TV shows. Actually, the K-drama and Alcott's book have rather little in common on first glance. Fans of the original book will not know the setting, characters, or story line. The way Jeong Seo-kyeong, the K-dramas writer, writes the story around major Alcott classic themes makes this a smart and perceptive adaptation. In a hyper-competitive modern South Korea, Jeong investigates income inequality and class struggles using the source material.
Working with director Park Chan-wook, Jeong Seo-kyeong is probably most known for her work on Sympathy For Lady Vengeance, Thirst, The Handmaiden, and Decision to Leave.
Among Park Ji-hu's finest performances alongside all of us are dead is Little Women.
Park Ji-hu has a small credit list, but she has developed a career assuming challenging and nuanced roles. Park grounds the events of Netflix's thriller series by adding a vulnerability to her All of Us Are Dead role. The actress approaches her Little Woman role similarly. She makes it clear she is naive to the world of the rich and powerful, even though she gives Oh In-hye the complexity of a street-smart teenage aching to exercise her freedom from her overprotective sisters.
Park Ji-hu clearly has a bright future ahead of her from her roles in K-dramas including Little Women and All of Us Are Dead. Beyond these parts, Park gave a remarkable performance in the 2018 film House of Hummingbird, where she took home Best Actress in a Narrative Feature Film at the Tribeca film festival. In the waiting for All of Us Are Dead season 2, all of the actress's endeavors are worth seeing.
Based on the webtoon writer Jeon Bae-soo created, All of Us Are Dead is a horror-thriller series.
